Abstract: Default QCL assumptions for UEs and base stations to apply after identifying a new beam in response to beam failure detection are provided for single-DCI multi-TRP communication. In one aspect, a default QCL assumption for PDSCH after beam failure detection may be applied based on TCI states corresponding to a lowest codepoint among the TCI codepoints containing two different states. In another aspect, a default QCL assumption for PDSCH after beam failure detection may be applied based on at least one of: a lowest CORESET-ID in a latest monitored slot, a selected RS index during beam failure recovery, CORESET-0, or a first TCI state corresponding to the lowest TCI codepoint indicating two TCI states. Additionally, default QCL assumptions for UEs and base stations to apply during beam failure recovery are provided for single-DCI multi-TRP communication when the UE is not configured with a set of beam failure detection resources.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for determining default parameters to use in the absence of a signaled uplink transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state for uplink transmissions. In some cases, a UE may determine, based on one or more rules, at least one of a default uplink beam or default path loss reference signal (PL RS) to use an uplink transmission in the absence of a signaled uplink transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state for the uplink transmission; and send the uplink transmission in accordance with the determination.

Abstract: A UE may determine that two or more resources on two or more beams from a base station have phase continuity. The UE may determine, based on the two or more resources on the two or more beams having the phase continuity, a joint channel information associated with the two or more beams using individual measurements respectively corresponding to the two or more beams. The UE may then transmit, to the base station, a group-based beam report including the joint channel information. The base station may provide the UE with an indication that the two or more resources on the two or more beams from the base station have phase continuity. The base station may receive the group-based beam report from the UE based on the indication, and the base station may configure communication with the UE on a joint channel based on the group-based beam report.
