Abstract: An approach is disclosed for detecting cornering spots capable of facilitating crowd control by limiting a mobility of a crowd. The approach involves, for example, collecting satellite, aerial, and/or street-level imagery associated with one or more geographic features of a geographic area. The approach also involves determining at least one cornering spot along with one or more attributes of the cornering spot characterizing the effectiveness of the cornering spot to assist in crowd control. Cornering spot data can be stored in a geographic database and/or displayed in an application on user equipment.

Abstract: An apparatus controls an image capturing apparatus that obtains, through automatic shooting, an image to be provided to a user. Abstract: The systems and methods disclosed herein provide a risk prediction system that uses trained machine learning models to make predictions that a VRU will take a particular action. The system first receives, in a video stream, an image depicting a VRU operating a micro-mobility vehicle and extract the depictions from the image. The extraction process may be determined by bounding box classifiers trained to identify various VRUs and micro-mobility vehicles. The system feeds the extracted depictions to machine learning models and receives, as an output, risk profiles for the VRU and the micro-mobility vehicle. The risk profile may include data associated with the VRU/micro-mobility vehicle determined based on classifications of the VRU and the micro-mobility vehicles. The system may then generate a prediction that the VRU operating the micro-mobility vehicle will take a particular action based on the risk profile.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for training an artificial neural network (ANN) for object detection in images. The method includes a training phase of training the ANN with a training database (TDB) that includes training images, and measuring a performance of the trained ANN with a validation database that includes validation images. If the measured performance is not satisfactory, the method further includes an enhancing phase of detecting a mismatch between the validation images and a response of the trained ANN in response to the validation images, correlating the mismatch to a characteristic of the training images that impacts the training of the ANN, modifying the training database according to the characteristic, and training the ANN with the modified training database. The invention further relates to a non-transitory computer program and a device configured to carry out the method, and to an artificial neural network trained with the method.

Abstract: In the multi-target detection and tracking method, lidar (2D laser scanner) scans point cloud data of surroundings and transfers the collected data to the edge server. Then, the edge server uploads the data to the cloud. After obtaining the lidar data, point clouds of footsteps are extracted through dynamic point extraction, point clustering, and random forest model, respectively. Footsteps are matched to form human tracking trajectory by using trajectory matching. After the tracking process, the walking information is published to the users, in a visual form. Meanwhile, the gait parameters are saved into files, including walking speed and step length, when human is detected. Comparing to the visual sensor based human tracking methods, the present invention employs lidar to avoid the interference of ambient light, which leads to easier implementation and larger universality, especially for multi-target scenarios.
