Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One method may include transmitting a first signal instructing a user equipment (UE) to transition a state of a secondary cell associated with the UE; determining an allocation of resources for the UE to communicate with the secondary cell; and transmitting a second signal including an indication of an active bandwidth part (BWP) used for the allocation of resources based on the determining. The active BWP and the first signal may indicate the transition of the state of the secondary cell.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that support multiplexing uplink transmissions with transmit diversity with a single carrier waveform. Two or more UEs may be configured to use space time block codes (STBC) for transmissions using multiple uplink antennas. A first UE may be configured to use a first STBC for a first uplink transmission. An orthogonal cover code (OCC), such as a Walsh code, may be applied to the first STBC to generate a second STBC, and a second UE may use the second STBC for a second uplink transmission. The first UE and the second UE may concurrently transmit the first uplink transmission and the second uplink transmission. The first STBC and the second STBC may be applied across multiple OFDM symbols, or may be applied within an OFDM symbol on a modulated symbol level.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A receiving device may detect a signal associated with low latency transmissions and decode a non-low latency communication accordingly. The receiving device may receive an indicator from a transmitting device that indicates where and when low latency communications occur. The indication may specify frequency resources or symbols used by the low latency communication. The indicator may be transmitted during the same subframe as the low latency communication, at the end of a subframe, or during a subsequent subframe. The receiving device may use the indicator to mitigate low latency interference, generate channel estimates, and reliably decode the non-low latency communication. In some cases, the interfering low latency communication may occur within the serving cell of the receiving device; or the interfering low latency communication may occur in a neighboring cell.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for determining support for one or more modulation orders to use for the transmission of control channel(s) and data channel(s). In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) determines, based on at least three modulation and coding scheme (MCS) tables, a first modulation scheme to use for communications with a wireless device for a first subset of subframes, and a second modulation scheme to use for communications with the wireless device for a second subset of subframes. Each of the three MCS tables is associated with a different maximum modulation order. The UE monitors for a data channel transmitted in the first subset of subframes using the first modulation scheme. The UE monitors for a data channel transmitted in the second subset of subframes using the second modulation scheme.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. One method includes identifying a latency between a start of a transmission time interval (TTI) of a transmission burst and a feedback opportunity for the TTI, and determining a duration of the TTI based at least in part on the latency. Another method includes identifying a latency between an end of a TTI of a transmission burst and a feedback opportunity for the TTI, identifying a plurality of code blocks in the TTI, selecting one of a transport block level feedback or a code block level feedback for the TTI based at least in part on the latency, and transmitting the selected one of the transport block level feedback or the code block level feedback for the TTI during the feedback opportunity.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may broadcast a synchronization signal using a narrowband portion of a bandwidth of a cell. The synchronization signal may include a sequence repeated over several symbol periods using a cover code to support power-efficient cell acquisition. A user equipment (UE) receiving the synchronization signal may determine frequency and timing information for a cell by performing a weighted combination and accumulation of low complexity autocorrelation and cross-correlation procedures on the synchronization signal. The reduced complexity correlation procedures may be enabled based on the use of the cover code and a base sequence. In some cases, the cross-correlation may be performed at multiple sampling rates. The use of the cover code within the synchronization signal may also support correlation procedures that use recursive or repeated updates, which may allow for further reduced computational complexity relative to other cell search procedures.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer readable-medium for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus receives data via a first group of component carriers (CCs) of a plurality of groups of aggregated CCs. The first group of CCs correspond to unlicensed or shared frequencies. The apparatus selects a CC from at least two CCs of the first group of CCs for transmission on a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH). The selection of the CC is based on at least an uplink-transmission clearance status of each of the at least two CCs. The apparatus transmits the PUCCH via the selected CC.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a unique control region that is mapped to each data region for DL DMRS transmissions. In addition, the present disclosure provides an updated DCI format that may include DL DMRS transmissions. The apparatus may receive a first content during a first TTI. In an aspect, the content may include at least a control region which includes a DMRS. In addition, a location of the DMRS may be defined by either a closed-loop precoding structure or an open-loop precoding structure. Furthermore, the duration of the first TTI may be shorter than 1 ms. The apparatus may demodulate the control region based at least on the DMRS.

Abstract: A transmitter may initiate multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications with a receiver in which a number of codewords used in MIMO transmissions may be selected to provide enhanced communications for a particular service that is associated with the MIMO transmission. In cases where a lower-latency service is identified, a MIMO transmission may be configured with one codeword transmitted over multiple spatial layers, which may provide lower processing latency at a receiver relative to processing of multiple codewords. In cases where a mobile broadband service is identified, a MIMO transmission configured with two (or more) codewords may be transmitted over multiple spatial layers, which may provide increased data throughput relative to a single codeword MIMO transmission. A codeblock size for a transmission also may be selected based at least in part on a service associated with the transmission.
