Abstract: An LED optical light engine spotlight which can accommodate a variable number of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) is disclosed. An optical projection lens mounted in front of the LEDs merges the separate LED beams into a single beam, similar to the single beam provided by a halogen light and reflector. A heat sink provides convection cooling up to approximately 100° F. An optional fan provides additional heat dissipation for more extreme conditions. The depicted device can include a vertical tilt of over 200°. Optimally, the depicted device is designed to have a full vertical tilt range between zenith (0 degrees) to horizontal (90 degrees) to full depression (135 degrees). An optional accessory lens provides additional capabilities, including flood lenses, colored lenses and rock guards, for example. The depicted device can be hard wired or wireless. The depicted device can be adapted to many base units and/or pan and tilt platforms.

Abstract: A lighting control system includes a device controller containing control circuitry that is configured to control drive currents delivered to a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) of a lighting device. The control circuitry generates commands to compensate for failed LEDs in the plurality of LEDs by controlling drive currents delivered to a group of LEDs so that the illuminance level of light detected by an illuminance sensor will not substantially change because of the failed LED, if the voltage across the group of LEDs is less than the threshold amount. The control circuitry also controls the plurality of LEDs in response to data received from a sensor configured to measure a characteristic value of light received from the lighting device, by controlling drive currents delivered to the LEDs if the detected characteristic value of light from the lighting device has moved above or below a threshold.

Abstract: Fresnel lenses are arranged between a board and an outer lens in such a manner as to face at least one of LED chips. The Fresnel lenses are arranged close to a center of the outer lens in front view. Convex and dome-shaped lenses are arranged between the board and the outer lens in such a manner as to face other light sources of the LED chips. The dome-shaped lenses are arranged more radially outward than the Fresnel lenses in front view. Rear surface 89a of the dome-shaped lenses are arranged to be offset toward the LED chips relative to rear surfaces of the Fresnel lenses.

Abstract: First adapter (10) and second adapter (40) are each separately securable to a respective automotive light bar (200, 201) at mutually facing lateral light bar end caps (206). The adapters (10, 40) interfit, such as first adapter (10) having one or more tenons (14; 18) received in shape-conforming recess or mortise (44) of second adapter (40). The coupling assembly formed from interfit first and second adapters (10, 40) sufficiently supports a midspan region of conjoined light bars (200, 201) to permit omission of mounting L-brackets (208) conventionally required at the mutually facing light bar ends (206), thus allowing fewer holes to be drilled in vehicle roof or bumper (212) and resulting in an aesthetically cleaner presentation of the overall lengthened light bar assembly.
