    Abstract: A drill bit, which is rotatable in a direction of rotation about an axis of rotation, is disclosed. The drill bit has a cutting portion with an annular portion where the annular portion has a first end on which is a cutting element and has at a second end a first insertion element. The drill bit has a drill shaft portion with a cylindrical drill shaft which has at an end, towards the cutting portion, a second insertion element. In a direction of insertion parallel to the axis of rotation, the insertion elements form a plug-in connection and can be additionally connected by way of at least one pin element which is movable in at least one slit-shaped clearance.

    Abstract: An earth-boring tool comprises a bit body and first and second depth of cut control (“DOCC”) features mounted thereon. The first and second DOCC features comprise a first rubbing surface having a first surface area and a second rubbing surface having a second surface area, respectively, for contacting a subterranean formation. The second surface area is different from the first surface area such that the first and second DOCC features distribute a load attributable to applied weight on bit over the first and second rubbing surfaces at different rates. Methods of forming an earth-boring tool include selecting first and second DOCC features having different rates of engagement with the subterranean formation and mounting the first and second DOCC features on a bit body.

    Abstract: A tool for drilling subterranean formations includes a tool body having a face surface, a blade extending radially outward on the face surface toward a gage surface, and a plurality of cutting structures disposed in the blade. Each of the plurality of cutting structures comprises a substantially spherical body of particulate impregnated matrix material. A method of forming the tool includes forming a tool body having the plurality of cutting structures dispersed therein. A method of using the tool includes rotating the earth-boring tool within a wellbore and engaging a formation material of an earth formation with an outer surface of the blade and wearing the outer surface of the blade to expose the spherical cutting structure. After wearing the outer surface of the blade, the method includes engaging the earth formation with the spherical cutting structure.
