    摘要： An operation device for a vehicle, capable of being used in a vehicle air conditioner system. The operation device has front panels that have a light transmissive portion, and a flexible printed circuit board shaped to correspond to the arrangement of the front panels. The flexible printed circuit board includes a plurality of light emitting elements at positions respectively corresponding to the positions of the front panels. There are switching means, disposed at the rear of the printed circuit and arranged so that these switching means are operated in response to the operation of the front panels. The rear portion of the front panel can be moved together with light emitting elements in response to the operation of the front panel.

    摘要： A membrane switch comprises a pair of flexible sheets connected together with the respective inner surfaces thereof provided with contacts and terminals respectively connected to the contacts facing each other and spaced apart by a spacer, and an output flat cable held between the pair of flexible sheets with the leader lines thereof in electrical contact respectively with the terminals. One of the contacts is formed on the inner surface of one of the pair of flexible sheets by evaporation and etching. The rest of the contacts are formed on the inner surface of the other flexible sheet by evaporation and etching. A connecting film is formed over the periphery of the inner surface of at least one of the pair of flexible sheets. Portions of the connecting film corresponding to the terminals are formed of films of an electrically conductive adhesive or heat sealing material, and portions of the connecting film other than those corresponding to the terminals are formed of films of an electrically insulating adhesive or heat sealing material.

    摘要： Conductors of a flexible printed circuit routed through a hollow two axis articulated hinge allow a calculator with rotating case halves to possess a keyboard portion in each half of the case. The conductors routed through the hollow articulated hinge are generally centered about one axis of hinge rotation for approximately half the length of the axis, whereupon they transition by either a U-turn or a jog to continue as centered about the other axis of hinge rotation. The conductors may be an integral part of a flexible membrane keyboard assembly having portions located in both halves of the calculator's case. Strain reliefs at the locations where the conductors traverse the case halves, and two in the hinge, at about the center thereof, limit and apportion the torsional flexing experienced by the conductors. The torsional flexing experienced by the flexible conductors increases the number of cycles of rotation they can undergo without breaking, as compared to conventional bending. The hollow articulated hinge allows one case half to rotate one full revoltuion about the other, so that the calculator can be opened and held in one hand. By being within the hollow hinge the conductors are protectd from injury.

    摘要： A touch sensitive data input device is provided for use with the screen of a cathode ray tube. The device has an annular bezel that loosely supports a firm clear backing plate. A rear transparent sheet element that has a coefficient of thermal expansion different from that of the backing plate is loosely retained against the backing plate to avoid deformation induced by differential thermal expansions. A closely spaced apart front transparent element is placed adjacent the rear transparent sheet, their respective adjacent surfaces having mutually orthogonal electrically conductive strips that make local electrical contact when a force is applied to the front element. An annular frame over the front element is secured to the bezel. In one aspect of the invention, a gasket with both sides coated with a resilient bonding material seals the frame to the bezel to protect the zone between the transparent front and rear elements from contamination by environmental pollutants.
