摘要: In apparatus for detecting the presence of documents on a document support surface, the surface has at least one groove extending from one end of the surface to the other end and aligning with the direction of document feed. The groove is closed at one end and open at the other. A flow of pressurized air is fed from the closed end lengthwise of the groove. A gas pressure dectection means monitors the gas pressure intermediate the ends of the groove and produces an output signal which has a first value when a document covers the groove and a second value when the document is not covering the groove.

摘要: Apparatus for detecting the occurrence of a simultaneous multiple feed of documents when a vacuum source operates on documents being carried away from a document feeder so as to attract the documents toward a sensing station having an exhaust port for positive air pressure. A multiple feed of documents increases the pressure at the exhaust port. A pressure sensing device is coupled to the exhaust port for detecting such increase in pressure, thereby detecting a multiple feed of documents.

摘要: A document transport system embodying a main guideway for singly conveying documents to one of a plurality of gated intersecting auxiliary guideways is disclosed. The destination of the document is read from the document by a reader such as a magnetic reading head. This information is then synchronously transferred through a plurality of registers with the movement of the document along the main guideway. Positioned along the main guideway and anteriorly to each intersecting guideway is a document detector having the functions of transferring the information from the previous register to the present register and actuate the gate to the auxiliary guideway if there is a verification between the destination information in the register and the gate identification. Several documents having different destinations may be transported along the main guideway at any one time.

摘要: A card processing apparatus detects an insertion/non-insertion of a card and a position of an inserted card regardless of any existence/non-existence of an opaque part on any position of the card. A first card detector is disposed at a first position in a conveying path, a second card detector is disposed at a second position after the first card detector, and a third card detector is disposed at a third position in the conveying path. A conveying mechanism is controlled by detection signals outputted from the first to third card detectors. Each of the card detectors include an operating member movable from a standby position to a shifted position due to contact with the card. A sensor detects any displacement of the operating member, wherein one of the detection signals provides a detection/non-detection of a card, an insertion or non-insertion of a card and an inserted card position.
