    摘要: A hot water apparatus is provided in which heat recovery is performed as much as possible allowing drain to be generated and excellent heat efficiency is achieved without providing a plurality of heat exchangers by effectively evaporating generated drain. In a water heater 1, the drain evaporator 11 is disposed inclining so that its side facing the high temperature portion of the heat exchanger 10 is at a lower position. The generated drain drops on the drain receiver guiding portion 28, and moves by its own weight to the side facing the high temperature portion. Then the drain is heated and evaporated. In this evaporation, the same amount of heat as that of recovered latent heat is discharged to the exhaust gas, however, sensible heat can be recovered as much as possible without limiting drain generation in the heat exchanger 10.

    摘要: An outdoor condensing furnace is provided with a condensate drain line which passes through the heat exchange compartment and to a location within the building where it can be discharged at temperatures above freezing. During heating operation, the drain line is maintained at temperatures above freezing such that the condensate will not freeze, and if condensate is trapped in the drain line and freezes during periods of nonheating operation, then it will be quickly thawed when heating operation is resumed. In an alternate embodiment, a drain pan is placed in direct contact with the primary heat exchanger and the condensate is routed to drain pan to be vaporized. Another embodiment provides for routing of the condensate from the condensing heat exchanger, through a flue pipe, and to a drain site which is at above freezing ambient conditions.

    摘要: A freeze resistant method for draining liquid condensate from a condensate furnace in low temperatures includes quickly purging the liquid condensate from a condensate reservoir. A condensing heat exchanger is connected to a condensing reservoir and stores liquid condensate as the system is in use. As the inducer is running, it produces a positive pressure along a condensate line to the outlet of the reservoir, creating a back pressure which prevents draining of the reservoir. When the inducer is shut off, the positive pressure is removed, allowing the outlet to open, the liquid condensate rapidly flushing from the reservoir. By flushing the liquid condensate out of the system rapidly, the amount of liquid condensate remaining in the system and exposed to cold conditions can be minimized. Alternatively, a valve can be positioned proximate to the output of the condensate reservoir and is opened when the liquid condensate is to be flushed from the system. In another embodiment, a time control or a level detector can be employed to regulate the amount of liquid condensate in the condensate reservoir and to prevent overflow.

    摘要: A high efficiency domestic furnace incorporates means for separating and neutralizing flue gas condensate. Acidic condensate from the flue gas products of combustion is neutralized by contact with neutralizing material in a housing through which the condensate is flowed. The use of the neutralizer in connection with a high efficiency domestic furnace permits discharge of the condensate directly to the household drain. The neutralizer is arranged to be self-flushing and defines a serpentine, series flow path and is arranged to discharge the neutralized condensate as a result of the entry of additional acidic condensate at its inlet. To enhance the operation of the neutralizer, it is arranged to be vibrated during normal operation of the furnace.
