摘要: A reformer assembly includes a vortex tube receiving heated fuel mixed with steam. A catalyst coats the inner wall of the main tube of the vortex tube and a hydrogen-permeable tube is positioned in the middle of the main tube coaxially with the main tube. With this structure the vortex tube outputs primarily Hydrogen from one end and Carbon-based constituents from the other end. In some embodiments a second vortex tube receives the Carbon output of the first vortex tube to establish a water gas shift reactor, producing Hydrogen from the Carbon output of the first vortex tube.

摘要: A vent for use in a gaseous fuel supply circuit of a gas turbine is provided. The vent includes an inlet in flow communication with the gaseous fuel supply circuit, a first outlet in flow communication with the gaseous fuel supply circuit and configured to release gaseous fuel at atmospheric pressure, a first valve coupled between the inlet and the first outlet, wherein the first valve includes a second outlet configured to channel the gaseous fuel towards a combustion device. The system also includes a second valve coupled between the inlet and the second outlet, and a control device configured to selectively open and close the first and second valves based on a pressure of the gaseous fuel.

摘要: The invention relates to a method and a device for generating electrical energy in a combined system consisting of a power plant and an air handling system. The power plant comprises a first gas expansion unit connected to a generator. The air handling system comprises an air compression unit, a heat exchange system, and a fluid tank. In a first operating mode, feed air is compressed in the air compression unit and cooled in the heat exchange system. A storage fluid is generated from the compressed and cooled feed air and is stored as cryogenic fluid in fluid tank. In a second operating mode, cryogenic fluid is removed from fluid tank and is vaporized, or pseudo-vaporized, at superatmospheric pressure. The gaseous high pressure storage fluid generated is expanded in the gas expansion unit. Gaseous natural gas is introduced into the heat exchange system (21) to be liquefied.

摘要: A fuel nozzle system for enabling a gas turbine to start and operate on low-Btu fuel includes a primary tip having primary fuel orifices and a primary fuel passage in fluid communication with the primary fuel orifices, and a fuel circuit capable of controlling flow rates of a first and second low-Btu fuel gases flowing into the fuel nozzle. The system is capable of operating at an ignition status, in which at least the first low-Btu fuel gas is fed to the primary fuel orifices and ignited to start the gas turbine, and a baseload status, in which at least the second low-Btu fuel gas is fired at baseload. The low-Btu fuel gas ignited at the ignition status has a content of the first low-Btu fuel gas higher than that of the low-Btu fuel gas fired at the baseload status. Methods for using the system are also provided.

摘要: A stator vane assembly for a gas turbine engine in which both higher pressure cooling air and lower pressure cooling air are both supplied to the stator vane assembly to cool both an airfoil and inner and outer diameter endwall cavities of the stator vane assembly, in which the spent higher pressure cooling air is then discharged into a combustor of the gas turbine engine. The higher pressure cooling air flows through a closed loop cooling circuit formed within the stator vane assembly while the lower pressure cooling air is discharged through exit holes into the hot gas stream of the turbine.

摘要: A process for producing ammonia and a derivative of ammonia from a natural gas feed comprising conversion of natural gas into a make-up synthesis gas; synthesis of ammonia; use of said ammonia to produce said derivative of ammonia, wherein a portion of the natural gas feed is used to fuel a gas turbine; power produced by said gas turbine is transferred to at least one power user of the process, such as a compressor; heat is recovered from exhaust gas of said gas turbine, and at least part of said heat is recovered as low-grade heat available at a temperature not greater than 200° C., to provide process heating to at least one thermal user of the process, such as CO2 removal unit or absorption chiller; a corresponding plant and method of modernization are also disclosed.

摘要: A system and method for supplying an energy grid with energy from an intermittent renewable energy source having a production unit for producing Hydrogen, Nitrogen, and Oxygen. The production unit is operated by using energy provided by the renewable energy source. An Oxygen storage receives and stores Oxygen produced by the production unit, a mixing unit receives and mixes the Hydrogen and the Nitrogen produced by the production unit to form a Hydrogen-Nitrogen-mixture, an Ammonia source receives and processes the Hydrogen-Nitrogen-mixture for generating a gas mixture containing Ammonia, an Ammonia power generator generates energy for the energy grid. The Ammonia power generator is fluidly connected to the Ammonia storage vessel, is configured to combust the received Ammonia in a combustion chamber to generate the energy, and is fluidly connected to the Oxygen storage to introduce Oxygen into the combustion chamber for combustion of Ammonia.
