Abstract:
A ditch cutting and excavation spoil removal apparatus creates ditches and land contours while simultaneously removing excavation spoil from the banks of newly created ditches. The apparatus includes an excavation spoil collection box and an adjustable plow saddle that supports a plowshare. The spoil collection box has a vertically adjustable rectangular frame with an open front and bottom. The pivotally mounted plow saddle may be tilted upward and downward through the bottom of the excavation box frame for adjustment of the plowshare and, correspondingly, the depth of the ditch being cut. Excavation spoil is collected in the spoil collection box as the apparatus is moved along the ground surface and is removed by raising the spoil collection box.
Abstract:
A system for moving a work machine includes a towing vehicle, a trailer arranged to be towed with the towing vehicle, and a towing arrangement for the towing vehicle. The towing vehicle includes a towing vehicle's towing point arranged under its chassis between the front axle and rear axle. The trailer includes a chassis and a towing arm, a deck, and wheels. The towing arrangement includes: a drawbar having a first end pivoted to the towing vehicle's towing point and a second end having a drawbar's towing point for the trailer to be towed, a first pivot under the rear axle and in a transverse direction of the vehicle chassis for pivoting the drawbar to the towing vehicle's towing point, a second pivot having a vertical axis and being fitted to the drawbar's second end to transmit a load of the trailer being towed rigidly to the first pivot, a third pivot, located at one end of the drawbar, to permit the trailer to tilt in a transverse direction of the towing vehicle, a vertical support for the second pivot, an upper drawbar, and a connector arm, wherein the drawbar, the upper drawbar, and the connector arm form a closed structure around the rear axle.
Abstract:
A hydro excavation heating system includes an internal combustion engine having an exhaust gas stream, a heat exchanger coupled to the exhaust gas stream and configured to heat hydro excavation water by transferring heat from the exhaust gas stream to the hydro excavation water circulating therethrough, and a tank for storing the hydro excavation water. The system also includes a water pump having an inlet coupled to an outlet of the tank storing the hydro excavation water, a hydro excavation hose coupled to an outlet of the water pump, and a coupling coupled to the hydro excavation hose and to an inlet of the heat exchanger to define a closed circulation path through the system when heating the hydro excavation water, where the coupling is configured to disconnect from the heat exchanger in order to use the hydro excavation water during a hydro excavation operation.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for permitting construction equipment, and particularly backhoe loaders, to be transported in the hold of a seagoing vessel within the interior of an enclosed cargo container includes front and rear rollers that temporarily replace the wheels of the equipment and allow it to be driven into and out of the container without any disassembly of the equipment.
Abstract:
A method of operating a working machine of the kind including a body, a ground engaging structure, the body carrying a superstructure which is rotatable relative to the body about a first generally upright axis, the superstructure providing a mounting for a working arm which permits the working arm to be pivoted up and down about a generally horizontal axis and to be rotated about a second generally upright axis, the working arm including a mounting structure for releasably carrying at an outermost end thereof, a working implement, the method including providing on the machine a working implement holding device, and rotating the superstructure relative to the body about the first generally upright axis, and manipulating the working arm about the generally horizontal axis and the second generally upright axis to bring the working implement carried by the working arm into holding engagement with the holding device whereby the holding device holds the working implement, releasing the working implement from the mounting structure, and manipulating the working arm to move the mounting structure away from the holding device.
Abstract:
An access control system for a work vehicle that has an engine and a location is provided, the system including location sensor that indicates the vehicle's location and an electronic control unit coupled to the sensor that receives the location signal and selectively disables the engine based upon the vehicle's position outside job site boundary's or based upon the time of operation at a plurality of job sites, each job site having its own time of operation.
Abstract:
A working machine is provided with a front working mechanism. The front working mechanism includes a first working element, a second working element and a hydraulic cylinder. The hydraulic cylinder is connected at a forward end portion thereof to the second working element and at a rearward end portion thereof to the first working element, and is constructed pivotable relative to the second working element within a predetermined range of work angles. The working machine is provided with a pivotal movement restraining device for allowing the hydraulic cylinder to pivot within the predetermined range of work angles while the hydraulic cylinder is connected to the second working element but for restraining the hydraulic cylinder from pivoting beyond the predetermined range of work angles in a direction away from the first working element while the second working element is detached from the hydraulic cylinder.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to a pipelayer and a method for of loading a pipelayer or excavator for transportation. One embodiment includes a method for transporting a pipelayer or excavator from a first work site to a second worksite via a public road. The method includes acts of: raising the pipelayer or excavator off of track shoes of the pipelayer or excavator; removing a first track assembly from the pipelayer or excavator using a boom of the pipelayer or a boom assembly of the excavator; loading the first track assembly onto a first trailer of a first tractor-trailer using the boom of the remaining pipelayer or the boom assembly of the remaining excavator; removing the second track assembly from the pipelayer using the boom of the remaining pipelayer or the boom assembly of the remaining excavator; and loading the second track assembly onto the first trailer using the boom of the remaining pipelayer or the boom assembly of the remaining excavator.

Abstract:
A trailer for hauling heavy equipment includes front end loading assembly that allows hitching and loading, a trailer bed, and a set of rear wheels. Longitudinally aligned support beams from the trailer bed, ends terminating at the front end loading assembly. The front end loading assembly comprises a low profile trailer front end section that uses a box beam positioned between the support beams and a pickup shaft of the assembly. The low profile front end section reduces the height of the front end of the trailer, thereby allowing loading of small equipment, while maintaining its load carrying and transmitting capability for heavy equipment. The trailer can be modular in design with removable ramp and trailer bed side sections.
