摘要： A debris-plowing pick-up head for a mobile sweeper comprises a housing defining a substantially hollow interior and having a front, a back, a left end and a right end, a top and a bottom, and a suctioning bottom opening for suctioning dust and small debris into the substantially hollow interior of the housing. A suctioning front opening is disposed in the front of the housing for receiving debris into the substantially hollow interior of the housing. A selectively openable and closable door means operatively mounted on the pick-up head for selectively opening and closing the suctioning front opening. There is a dust and debris outlet in the housing for permitting dust and debris to be suctioned from the substantially hollow interior of the housing into a hopper. There is also means disposed on the front of the housing for urging large debris toward the suctioning front opening, and a selectively operable actuation means for opening the door means for permitting the passage of debris therethrough.

摘要： A modular street sweeper includes a pair of side brooms to sweep debris laterally inwardly from opposing sides of the sweeper and a pickup mechanism to convey the swept debris from the ground to a collection hopper. The pickup mechanism includes a conveyor module in which a main broom at a rear of the sweeper sweeps the debris forwardly onto a rotating conveyor and a vacuum module in which a vacuum head spans laterally across the sweeper in proximity to the ground and communicates with a fan to direct the swept debris into the hopper. The vacuum pick up module is interchangeable with the conveyor pickup module so that a single sweeper investment can perform both a spring function of sand collection with the conveyor and a fall function of leaf collection with the vacuum head.

摘要： A gutter broom assembly for a street sweeper and method of use are disclosed. The invention relates to street sweeper having a vacuum system for moving air through a portion thereof and having a gutter broom assembly. The gutter broom assembly includes housing, a gutter broom being movable between an operational orientation and a transport orientation relative to the housing, and a skirt assembly attached to the housing. A sweeping chamber is defined within the housing and the skirt assembly which substantially encloses the gutter broom. A vacuum connection between the sweeping chamber and the vacuum system is provided for removing dust within the sweeping chamber when the gutter broom frame is in its operational orientation.

摘要： A sweeping machine composed of a brush assembly (1) and a suction assembly (5, 7, 9) sucking dirt that has been brushed off a ground surface. The brush assembly (1) has two elongate, cylindrical brushes (1) which are symmetrically arranged on either side of the travelling direction (K) and have radial bristles and a horizontal drive shaft (3) for rotation of the brushes. The drive shafts (3) extend transversely of the travelling direction and make a positive acute angle with the transverse direction, and the ends of the brushes (1) facing each other are arranged at a distance from each other. The brush assembly (1) is enclosed in a downwardly open housing (2) whose lower edge is formed of an elastic skirt (15) arranged to drag its free edge along the ground surface. The suction assembly has a suction nozzle (5) which is connectible to a suction device (7) supported by a vehicle (8). The suction nozzle (5) is elongate and extends transversely of the travelling direction (K) and behind the brushes (1). The suction nozzle (5) is formed of a casing which is open downwards and whose lower edge is formed of an elastic skirt (16) arranged to drag its free edge along the ground surface. The suction duct (9) leads to the top of the suction nozzle (5) in the center of the suction nozzle. The suction nozzle (5) communicates via openings at its ends with the housing (2) of the brush assembly.

The cleaning vehicle further includes a vertical adjustment for the rotation brushes to lift them when they are not needed, a lateral adjustment for the rotation brushes to adjust a width of sweeping, an audible warning for pedestrians, a water sprinkler system to aid in the cleaning process, and a large-scale trash removal brush mounted in front of the cleaning vehicle to push large-scale trash.

The sweeper has a motorized cart maneuverable by a human operator, a flow-through collection apparatus supported on the cart for collecting garbage therein, a suction inlet located forwardly of the collection apparatus and a vacuum blower for creating air suction, the vacuum blower drawing garbage and dust via suction through the suction inlet and into the collection apparatus, wherein the vacuum blower is positioned downstream of the container such that garbage does not enter the vacuum blower. The walk-behind mobile sweeper is easily maneuverable, is compact and not only cleans dust and dirt from surfaces but also collects garbage which is further compacted or compressed within a bag. The sweeper can be configured not only as a walk-behind sweeper but also as a stand-on skateboard sweeper or as a ride-on sweeper.

摘要： A turf grooming vehicle including a chassis and wheels supporting the chassis in terrain-following movement across a field includes a vacuum head assembly and a bin forming a receiver for loose turf material vacuumed from the surface of a field of turf. By jacking the receiver upwardly to pivot about an elevated axis of rotation the contents thereof can be discharged over the side of and into a vehicle disposed alongside the chassis. In addition, means forming a drive connection for operating both a fan for creating the suction as well as for operating hydraulic means for driving a rotatable grooming unit is coupled to a tractor or other pulling means so that the tractor and trailer can make extremely sharp turns. Further, the vacuum head assembly is arranged whereby it follows the surface of the ground independently of upward movements of the chassis (such as may be derived from the upward movements of the chassis wheels). Finally, means are arranged for evenly lifting and lowering opposite ends of the vacuum head assembly into and out of operative relation with the ground.
