摘要: A system for verifying the integrity of a train having a predetermined length is provided. The system includes a device for communicating and synchronizing with a detector of a circuit. The detector detects the presence/absence of a train. The device also includes an odometer providing an odometric reference at the start of occupation of the circuit and when the circuit is left by the train, a first processor calculating the distance traveled by the train on the basis of the difference between the two odometric references, a second processor calculating a minimum estimate of the length of the train that is equal to the calculated distance traveled less the algebraic length of the detection circuit and an information mechanism indicating that the train is integral when the calculated length of the train is greater than the predetermined length of the train less the length of a wagon. A method and a computer program product are also provided.

摘要: A motion detector for detecting movement of a rail based vehicle and the direction of that movement is provided. The motion detector can be integral with or attachable to an end-of-train unit and can include a single axis accelerometer mounted at an angle from the rails for detecting acceleration in both the lateral and vertical directions. A systems controller, which can include an analyzer, can be provided to receive and analyze output from the accelerometer to determine a motion state and a direction. A power controller can be provided for supplying power to the accelerometer on an intermittent basis to conserve power. A calibration unit can be provided to both initially calibrate and to subsequently recalibrate the accelerometer after a stopped motion state is detected. Additionally, an input/output port and an output driver for conditioning the signal for output to the end-of-train unit can be provided.

摘要: A railroad track monitoring device has a response device disposed at the front and end of every train, the response devices being capable of transmitting one of a number of different signals to a sampling device. The number of signals is at least twice as large as the number of trains on the system. The track is subdivided into a number of successive path segments and an interrogation device is disposed at the boundary of every two adjacent path segments. Each interrogation device has a memory allocated thereto for storing the last-received signal from a train passing the interrogation device, and a series of comparators for comparing the signals received from interrogation devices associated with adjacent track segments releases an occupied signal or a open track signal upon coincidence or difference of the most recently received information from the two track sections behind the front of the train.
