    摘要: A thermoplastic molding system includes a thermoplastic extrusion die for the extrusion of a thermoplastic slab. The extrusion die has adjustable die gate members for varying the thickness of the extruded material in different parts of the extruded slab. The thermoplastic extrusion die has a trimmer for cutting the extruded thermoplastic slab from the thermoplastic extrusion die. A plurality of thermoplastic molds, which may be either vacuum or compression molds, are each mounted on a movable platform, such as a rotating platform, for moving one mold at a time into a position to receive a thermoplastic slab being trimmed from the thermoplastic extrusion die. A molded part is formed with a variable thickness from a heated slab of thermoplastic material being fed still heated from the extrusion die. A plurality of molds are mounted to the platform to feed one mold into a loading position while a second mold is in a release position. A thermoplastic molding process uses the thermoplastic molding apparatus to mold a part of variable thickness from a slab of material heated during extrusion.

    摘要: In a method of producing injection-molded parts, an injection mold has two mold halves and a melt feeding device for application of melt across the mold surface of a mold half, when the injection mold is open. The melt is pressed into all areas of the mold cavity, when closing the mold halves. In order to simplify the arrangement of the hot runners in the mold half, when different injection-molded parts are produced, it is proposed to apply the melt onto the mold surface by a hot runner plate which is positioned above the mold surface, whereby the hot runner plate has several melt nozzles in the form of needle seal nozzles which are operated and controlled depending on the profile required for the respective mold half.

    摘要: The present invention contemplates a gyratory compaction apparatus for creating compression and shear forces in a sample material, the apparatus using a single roller to accomplish the gyration comprising a hollow cylinder mold including first and second end plates in slidable engagement with the mold at respective first and second open ends, with a chamber inside the mold for receiving the sample material, a support frame having an interior suitable for receiving the mold therein, a compression mechanism for compressing the sample material, and a gyratory assembly comprising a rotational drive motor having a drive shaft aligned along the longitudinal axis of the support frame interior, a cam mounted at the end of the drive shaft, a gyratory plate having an inner housing for encompassing and operably engaging the cam including a spring biased plunger operably engaging the cam and a first outer angular contact bearing for operably engaging the mold inner surface and a driven plate operably mounted to the support frame with a second angular contact bearing and operably coupled to the gyratory plate with a pin mounted eccentric to the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical interior and an annular planar thrust bearing concentric to the pin so that when the cam is driven in a first direction the gyratory plate is rotated concentrically about the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical interior and when the cam driven in an opposite second direction, the cam engages the plunger pivoting the gyratory plate about the axis of the pin radially displacing the gyratory plate and first angular contact bearing so that the gyratory plate rotates eccentric to the longitudinal axis while the first angular contact bearing tilts the mold to a specified angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the housing and gyrates the mold about the specified angle while the sample material is compressed within the mold.

    摘要: A gyratory compacting and mold extruding apparatus for compacting a specimen of material within a mold as the mold is gyrated includes a frame for supporting a mold, a mold gyrating carriage, a compaction ram and ram driving assembly, and a mold specimen extruder. The mold gyrating carriage receives a cylindrical mold having a cavity for holding material and an external peripheral flange about which the mold carriage is guided and driven to gyrate the mold while the ram is drivingly inserted through the open top of the mold. The ram driving assembly is supported by a flexible portion of the frame which flexes in reaction to force transferred by the ram. Strain gauges on the flexible portion of the frame provide feedback control data on ram force to an integrated computer control system which selectively controls the ram driving assembly to control the force transferred by the ram at least partially according to data generated by the strain gauges. The energy required to rotate the mold gyrating carriage around the mold is measured. A mold specimen extruder is provided on a common plane with the surface which supports the mold for gyration and compaction. An extrusion rod is powered to rise vertically through the bottom of the mold to extrude compacted material from the mold.

    摘要: Coated sheet molding compound (SMC) parts are produced by transferring mold devices between a main press and at least one auxiliary press and by completing the compressing and curing of the coated SMC parts during the transfer of the molds. In the main press the SMC sheet is compressed and cured to be formed into a desired shape, and the formed SMC part is coated in the mold, and in the auxiliary presses the other operation such as charging the SMC sheet, closing and opening the mold, removing the part, and the like are performed. Between the adjacent main press and auxiliary presses are means for transferring the molds between the respective presses. Levelling devices are provided associated with the molds for supporting the upper mold parallel to the lower mold, and during the transfer the coated SMC part is further compressed and cured in the mold by suitably controlling the levelling devices. This method can be sufficiently applied to mass production systems such as automobiles or the like.
