Abstract:
A method, system and network entity for negotiating a session description protocol (SDP) version improve a negotiation process where two communication parties negotiate an SDP version supported by both applications. Especially when the H.248 protocol is applied, by extending of a property parameter, the negotiation process between a media gateway controller and a media gateway can be achieved easily. A method, system and network entity for obtaining information of an SDP version allow one communication party to obtain information of an SDP version supported by the other party from the other party. Especially when the H.248 protocol is applied, by extending the property parameter, the media gateway controller may obtain the information of the SDP version supported by the media gateway easily.
Abstract:
A method for responding to termination service state change indication is provided. The method includes: receiving a command message indicating a termination service state change, in which the command message at least includes a method parameter and a duration parameter, the method parameter indicates a change method of the service state, and the duration parameter indicates a maintaining duration of the service state after being changed; and changing the service state of the termination according to method parameter content information of the received command message, and maintaining the changed service state according to duration parameter content information of the received command message. Accordingly, a media gateway controller (MGC) and a media gateway (MG) of the termination service state change indication based on the media gateway control protocols are also provided. The termination service state change and the maintaining duration of the service state after being changed are indicated simultaneously, which is rather convenient for the MG or MGC to realize effective subsequent control on the termination after the service state change of the termination.
Abstract:
The present disclosure discloses a method, system, and apparatus for filtering packets. The method includes setting packet filtering information that uniquely identifies the basic characteristics of a media stream in an Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6)-based packet header. As an apparatus for filtering packets, a media gateway (MG) uses the packet filtering information sent by the media gateway controller (MGC) to filter packets for the media stream when transferring the media stream. The method, system, and apparatus enable packet filtering for the media streams in an IPv6-based PS network. Moreover, the filtering conditions in the packet filtering information in the present disclosure is triplet information that uniquely identifies the basic characteristics of a media stream and can be obtained from the IPv6 packet header, thus reducing the complexity of the packet filtering process.
Abstract:
A range-based media control method includes the following steps: a media gateway (MG) receives from a media gateway controller (MGC) a signal indicating an operation on a media resource, where the signal carries range information requested to be associated with the media resource, and the MG executes the operation on the media resource within a range indicated by the associated range information. An MG and an MGC are also disclosed. With the present invention, the MGC can indicate the requested range of media control to the MG and the MG can return the actual range of media control to the MGC.
Abstract:
A method for pausing signals includes the following steps: a media gateway (MG) receives a pause instruction from a media gateway controller (MGC) instructing the MG to pause a resource operation; and the MG pauses the resource operation according to the pause instruction. A device for pausing signals is also provided. In embodiments of the present invention, the MGC may flexibly pause a signal or a signal list on a termination or a stream or associated with a media resource.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method for implementing media gateway controller status monitoring of media gateway. The method monitors the silent time of the media gateway controller message by providing an Inactivity Timer or a general timer and a message receiving flag on the media gateway independently, and sends a Notify message to the media gateway controller so as to trigger the media gateway controller to return a message indicating it is in normal status. After registering with the media gateway controller, the media gateway starts the Inactivity Timer or the general timer according to the returned Registration Successful message, to start to monitor the status of the media gateway controller.
Abstract:
A method for a media gateway controller (MGC) to deliver a resource provision decision to a media gateway (MG) includes: the MGC receives a decision request from the MG and makes a resource provision decision according to service requirement information and/or resource status information, and delivers the resource provision decision to the MG. The present invention also discloses an MGC, an MG and a system comprising the MGC and MG In the invention, the MGC does not deliver the resource provision decision already made according to service requirement information and/or resource status information until reception of a decision request from the MG so that the MGC delivers a resource provision decision passively upon request of the MG. The Pull mode for delivery of the resource provision decision is thus supported.
Abstract:
A media gateway (MG) and a packet filtering method thereof are provided to enhance the adaptability of the packet filtering mechanism on the MG. The packet filtering rule for a service instance may be changed dynamically, namely, the MG analyzes the currently transmitted packets of a service instance, obtains the state change of the instance, and then dynamically changes the packet filtering rule of the instance according to the state change of the instance. The present invention extends the property parameters of the H.248 protocol or MGCP protocol and adds a property parameter that indicates the dynamic packet filtering function is enabled or disabled and a property parameter that indicates the service type so that the MGC can enable or disable the packet filtering function for the instance of the specified service type flexibly according to the values of such parameters.

Abstract:
A communication system for implementing IP cross-domain interconnecting via Border media Gateway (BG) includes: different IP domains, each of which includes: a Media Gateway Controller (MGC) for call control and a Media Gateway (MG) for media bearing; the communication system includes a BG for implementing interconnecting of the IP domains as well. A communication method based on the communication system, includes: a calling MG and a called MG located in different IP domains implements call switching and media stream creating with a BG under the control of MGCs in the different IP domains; and the calling MG communicates with the called MG based on the media streams created. Thus the cross-domain interconnecting between different IP domains via BGs is realize.
