Abstract:
Novel ester diol alkoxylate urethane-acrylates comprising the reaction products of an ester diol alkoxylate, such as 2,2-dimethyl-3-hydroxypropyl 2,2-dimethyl-3-hydroxypropionate, and an organic polyiosocyanate, capped by an hydroxyalkyl acrylate and curable compositions thereof.
Abstract:
This invention is directed to polymers (including oligomers) that contain (N-substituted carbamoyloxy)alkanoyloxyalkyl acrylates, to a process for their preparation by reacting the carbamoyloxy alkanoyloxyalkyl acrylates with themselves, with lactone acrylates, and/or with other ethylenically unsaturated monomers, and to coating, ink, adhesive, and sealant compositions (including the cured coatings, inks, adhesives, and sealants) that are obtained by curing the above compositions by various means. The cured compositions, which are, for example, high-quality industrial finishes, sealants or encapsulants, are preferably made by incorporation of various conventional crosslinking agents and other normally-used formulating ingredients with the polymeric compositions of the invention.
Abstract:
Described herein are compositions suitable for photocopolymerization comprising a cyclic vinyl ether containing compound and urethane acrylates. Photocurable coatings can be prepared from such composition and such coatings have markedly improved flexibility and impact resistant properties.

Abstract:
Water soluble, high solids urethane coating compositions comprising a polycaprolactone derivative, an aliphatic polyisocyanate and water. The polycaprolactone derivative is a water soluble, carboxyl modified oligomer addition reaction product mixture obtained by the reaction of polycaprolactone polyol and an anhydride of a polycarboxylic acid to produce a water insoluble adduct that on reaction with an inorganic or organic base produces the water soluble, carboxyl modified oligomer addition reaction product mixtures which are eminently suitable for the production of urethane coating compositions of this invention. The polycaprolactone polyol reacted with the polycarboxylic acid has an average at least two hydroxyl groups in the molecule, a hydroxyl number of from about 15 to about 600 and an average molecular weight of from about 290 to about 6,000. The carboxylic acid anhydride has at least one intramolecular carboxylic anhydride group.
