Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure describe discovering physical cell identifiers in wireless communications. It can be determined to discover a physical cell identifier of one or more cells in a zone based at least in part on detecting a condition. A cell-specific signal can be received from at least one cell of the one or more cells in the zone. The cell-specific signal can be associated with one of a plurality of cell-specific signal hypotheses. The physical cell identifier of the at least one cell can be determined as one of a plurality of physical cell identifiers that corresponds to the one of the plurality of cell-specific signal hypotheses.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a channel coding and decoding algorithm that provides for generalized polar codes, including the concatenation of a plurality of component codes via one-step polarization. In a further aspect, selection of suitable component codes in this scheme can result in a generalized polar code having a cyclic shift property, such that information can be implicitly communicated according to the magnitude of the cyclic shift. In yet another aspect, a decoding algorithm provides for reliable decoding of such generalized polar codes, including exploitation of time diversity in sequential transmissions. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Wireless communication devices are adapted to facilitate multiplexing of reference signals. According to one example, a wireless communication device can multiplex a first reference signal and a second reference signal utilizing code division multiplexing for transmission across a first resource element and a second resource element. The first resource element may utilize a first subcarrier in a first OFDM symbol employing a first numerology. The second resource element may utilize a second subcarrier in a second OFDM symbol employing a second numerology that is different from the first numerology, where the second subcarrier overlaps in frequency at least a portion of the first subcarrier. Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes identifying a transmission timing of a control reference signal transmitted over a radio frequency spectrum band during an OFF duration of the UE with respect to the radio frequency spectrum band, in which the identified transmission timing is relative to a transition from the OFF duration to an ON duration of the UE with respect to the radio frequency spectrum band; receiving the control reference signal at the identified transmission timing; and performing a warm-up procedure, before the ON duration, based at least in part on the identified transmission timing of the control reference signal. A method for wireless communication at a wireless network includes indicating, to the UE, the transmission timing of the control reference signal; and transmitting the control reference signal at the indicated transmission timing. The OFF duration and the ON duration are coordinated with a wireless network.

The encoder may output the first subset of output bits prior to outputting the second subset of output bits.

Abstract: The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, or apparatuses that support enhanced efficiency in list Viterbi algorithm (LVA) decoding using iterative comparison trellis construction. Iterative comparison may involve comparison and selection from ordered accumulated path metrics associated with feeding transitions by selecting, for each successive rank of an ordered path metrics list for the current stage, the best unselected accumulated path metric of the feeding transitions. The iterative comparison may be performed sequentially for each stage before processing the next stage. Alternatively, the iterative comparison may be pipelined across stages, and different ranks of the ordered path metrics lists for different stages may be concurrently computed in a single trellis search cycle using multiple comparators. Iterative comparison may be used in an inner decoder to generate an ordered path metrics list for processing according to an error checking function using an outer decoder.

Abstract: A method of image compression includes receiving an image. Multiple quantized latent representations are generated to represent features of the image. Each of the quantized latent representations has a different resolution and is generated at staggered timings. Each of the later generated quantized latent representations is conditioned on each of the prior generated quantized latent representations. The multiple quantized latent representations are decoded to reconstruct the image.
