    摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently determining when to transmit a beam report indicating a new beam for communicating with a base station after a current beam used for communications with the base station fails. In one example, after detecting beam failure, a user equipment (UE) may compare a quality of each candidate beam available for communicating with a base station to a beam identification threshold, and the UE may perform beam reporting based on the comparisons (e.g., refrain from transmitting a beam report if the quality of each of the candidate beams is lower than the beam identification threshold). In another example, after detecting beam failure, a UE may compare a quality of each candidate beam available for communicating with a base station to a beam detection threshold, and the UE may perform beam reporting based on the comparisons.

    摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may use beamforming to transmit control and data transmissions to a set of user equipments (UEs). A base station may transmit downlink control information (DCI) to UEs that may indicate a set of resource allocations in which the base station may schedule a data transmission, and a respective transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state. The TCI state may indicate which transmission beam the base station may use to transmit a data transmission in a particular resource allocation. The UE may receive and decode the DCI and identify resource allocation information and an index that may indicate one or more TCI states being used for transmitting a broadcast or unicast transmission to the UE within a resource allocation. The UE may select one or more of the resource allocations to monitor for, and subsequently receive, the data transmission.

    摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that allow for a first user equipment (UE) to forward a transmission from a second UE to a base station. The forwarding techniques may include the first UE performing a decoding procedure on a message received from the second UE via a sidelink communications link. Based on the results of the decoding procedure, the first UE may select an amplify and forward (AF), decode and forward (DF), or a combination thereof to forward the message from the second UE to the base station. The base station may receive the forward messages and, in some cases, a message directly from the second UE, and may determine decoding weights to use to jointly decode the two messages received at the base station.

Compared to amplify-and-forward, equalize-and-forward may compensate the received source signal for various imperfections such as channel distortions and phase errors, using demodulation reference signal and phase tracking reference signal. The relay may apply Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to equalize the signal in tone domain.

A device may precode a phase tracking reference signal (PTRS) sequence by applying a single discrete Fourier transform (DFT) to the PTRS sequence. The device may map the DFT precoded PTRS sequence to a subset of resources of a set of resources, and may transmit a signal carrying the DFT precoded PTRS sequence. Additionally or alternatively, the device may receive a signal that includes a DFT precoded PTRS sequence, demap the DFT precoded PTRS sequence to a subset of resources of a set of resources, decode the DFT precoded PTRS by applying a single inverse DFT (IDFT) to the DFT precoded PTRS sequence, estimate a phase error based on the decoding, and apply a phase error correction to a set of additional symbols associated with the signal based on the estimated phase error.
