Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for higher bandwidth and data rate for enhanced machine type communications (eMTC). According to certain aspects, a method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method generally includes determining frequency resources within one or more configured narrowband regions of a system bandwidth to monitor for a transmission and monitoring for the transmission on the determined frequency resources within the one or more narrowband regions of the system bandwidth.

Abstract: A method, computer-readable medium, and apparatus are provided. In addition, the apparatus may determine a first set of subframes in the narrowband TDD frame structure used for transmitting a downlink control channel to a UE. In one aspect, a last subframe in the first set of subframes may be subframe n. Further, the apparatus may determine a second set of subframes in the narrowband TDD frame structure used for transmitting a downlink data channel to the UE. In certain aspects, a first subframe in the second set of subframes may be delayed based on k0 number of subframes after the subframe n. In certain other aspects, a last subframe in the second set of subframes may be subframe n+k0+x. Additionally, the apparatus may signal first information associated with the k0 number of subframes to the UE in a first delay field in a DCI transmission.

In some aspects, a user equipment may determine a relationship between a first set of antenna ports, used for demodulation reference signals (DMRS) associated with a machine-type communication physical downlink control channel (MPDCCH) and used for the MPDCCH, and a second set of antenna ports used for cell-specific reference signals (CRS); receive CRS on one or more antenna ports of the second set of antenna ports; and receive the MPDCCH using at least the CRS based at least in part on the relationship. Abstract: There is a need to support TDD frame structure for narrowband communications. The present disclosure provides a solution by supporting one or more TDD frame structure(s) for narrowband communications. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may determine to receive a narrowband physical downlink channel in a first subframe in a TDD frame structure of a plurality of TDD frame structures for narrowband communications. The TDD frame structures may include one or more special subframes, and the first subframe may be a downlink subframe. The apparatus may receive the narrowband physical downlink channel in a special subframe of the narrowband TDD frame structure, if the number of downlink OFDM symbols in the special subframe is greater than a predetermined threshold.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for optimizing real time services (e.g., such as a voice over Long Term Evolution (LTE) (VoLTE)) for devices with limited communications resources, such as machine type communication (MTC) devices and enhanced MTC (eMTC) devices. In one aspect, a UE determines a first configuration of subframes within at least one radio frame available for the UE and other UEs to use for bundled communications with a BS. The UE receives an indication of one or more subframes within the at least one radio frame that are unavailable for bundled uplink transmissions, and determines a second configuration of subframes to use for bundled communications based on the indication. The UE overrides the first configuration of subframes with the second configuration of subframes, and communicates with the BS using the second configuration of subframes. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for early termination of decoding of communication channels for power saving in narrowband devices are provided. One technique includes monitoring for one or more first repetitions of at least one communication channel from a base station. The device determines, based on the monitoring, whether to refrain from monitoring for one or more second repetitions of the at least one communication channel. The device enters a low power mode if the determination is to refrain from monitoring for the one or more second repetitions of the at least one communication channel.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides reduced cell-specific reference signal (CRS) transmissions for evolved machine type communication (eMTC). In one aspect, a network entity may determine at least one narrow band for transmission of a CRS. The network entity may further identify one or more resource blocks proximate the at least one narrow band and transmit the CRS on the narrow band and the one or more proximate resource blocks to a UE. In another aspect, a UE may apply a receive window to filter one or more noise samples outside at least one narrow band allocation, the receive window corresponding to one or more resource blocks located outside the defined number of resource blocks of the at least one narrow band allocation. The UE may further receive the CRS within the at least one narrow band allocation from a network entity in response to applying the receive window.

The apparatus may transmit a PSS using the at least one common subframe in the narrowband TDD frame structure determined for the narrowband communications.
