Abstract: Techniques are described for operating procedures associated with packet duplication. A packet data protocol convergence protocol (PDCP) entity of a transmitting device may duplicate a received packet to form a set of copied packets. Each packet in the set of copied packets may include the information of the received packet. Each packet of the set of copied packets may be transmitted using a different radio link control (RLC) entity. Procedures are described for configuring duplication bearers. Procedures are described for activating or deactivating packet duplication. Procedures are described for handling RLC entities at deactivation. Procedures are described for discarding some duplicate packets after a packet has been successfully decoded by a receiving device. Procedures are described for delaying transmission of duplicate packets to improve efficient use of communication resources. Procedures are described for buffer status report (BSR) reporting for duplication bearers.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may identify one or more first user equipments (UEs) that have been configured for grant-free transmissions on an allocation of resources. In some cases, the base station may then schedule an uplink transmission for a second UE on resources that overlap the allocation of resources. Accordingly, the base station may transmit a power adjustment indication (PAI) to the one or more first UEs to adjust a transmit power for uplink transmissions on the overlapping resources. In some cases, the PAI may include an indication of frequency-domain resources for the power adjustment indicated in the PAI, a specified time duration for the power adjustment indicated in the PAI, an indication of specific uplink transmissions to which the transmit power adjustment is to be applied, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may transmit a scheduling request to a base station. In some aspects, the user equipment may monitor for an ultra-reliable low latency communications type of response message from the base station based at least in part on transmitting the scheduling request to the base station, wherein the response message includes an indicator of an assignment of uplink resources for the user equipment or that the assignment of uplink resources is delayed, and wherein, based at least in part on the monitoring, the user equipment avoids retransmission of the scheduling request when the response message is detected or retransmits the scheduling request without delay when the response message is not detected. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Various techniques provide for identifying and transmitting a first transmission to a UE in a first transmission time interval (TTI), and puncturing a portion of the first transmission with a higher priority second transmission that has a shorter TTI than the first TTI. The punctured portion of the first transmission may then be transmitted in a subsequent portion of the first TTI, concurrently with an originally allocated portion of the first transmission for that subsequent portion of the TTI. A UE may identify the punctured portion of the first transmission, and identify that the punctured portion of the first transmission is being transmitted in the subsequent portion of the first TTI. The UE may decode the received transmissions and merge the punctured portion with other, non-punctured, portions of the first transmission.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein related to communicating a quality of service (QoS) class identifier (QCI) for configuring physical (PHY) layer signaling. The QCI may be used to configure one or more transmission parameters of a device (e.g., a user equipment (UE) or a base station) at a PHY layer. The PHY layer may select the one or more transmission parameters to meet the QoS conditions of a given QoS class of a transport block being communicated. A modulation and coding scheme (MCS) value may be used as the QCI for the PHY layer, a channel quality indicator (CQI) value may be used as the QCI for the PHY layer, or a cell radio network temporary identifier (C-RNTI) may be used as the QCI for the PHY layer. In some cases, the QCI may be a single bit included in a downlink control message.

A base station may identify a first grant repetition configuration of a plurality of grant repetition configurations for a user equipment (UE). The base station may generate a grant repetition parameter corresponding to the first grant repetition configuration. The base station may transmit the grant repetition parameter to the UE to indicate the first grant repetition configuration. The base station may transmit a repetition of grants in accordance with the first grant repetition configuration. The UE may receive the grant repetition parameter from the base station and determine a grant repetition configuration corresponding to the grant repetition parameter. The UE may monitor for a repetition of grants corresponding to the determined grant repetition configuration.

Abstract: Dynamically adaptive numerologies for ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) are discussed in which a base station may determine performance characteristics for each user equipment (UE) that it serves, in addition to detecting any fluctuations in system loading at the base station. Based on this information, the base may be select for each of the served UEs an adapted numerology that provides an optimized set of configurations that assist the communications between the base station and each UE to meet the strict parameters for URLLC. Once selected, the base station signals the selected adapted numerology to the UEs either through broadcast or UE-specific communications.

Accordingly, the UE may refrain from transmitting one or more additional PDUs associated with the frame. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE may receive, from the network, an indication to disable some feedback to the network. Accordingly, the UE may refrain from transmitting one or more feedback signals based at least in part on the indication. Numerous other aspects are described.
