Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for handover to cell supporting multiple frequency bands are provided. One method comprises indicating, by a UE, supported bands to a serving eNB, and indicating to the serving eNB that the UE can be handed over to any band overlapping with the supported bands. The method may also include receiving the EARFCN of a target eNB from the serving eNB, and connecting to the target eNB regardless of whether the EARFCN corresponds to any band indicated by the target eNB as being supported and/or regardless of whether the EARFCN is equal to an EARFCN indicated as being used by the target eNB. The indicating may further include indicating to the serving eNB that the UE will not autonomously terminate connection with a target cell if the target eNB does not transmit in any of the indicated supported bands.
Abstract:
One embodiment is directed to a method comprising receiving and storing a set of cellular network and unlicensed frequency network interworking parameters from a cellular source cell; offloading data traffic from the cellular source cell to an unlicensed frequency network based on the stored set of interworking parameters; receiving a handover command including a second set of cellular network and unlicensed frequency network interworking parameters; checking whether information regarding unlicensed frequency network has been received from a cellular target cell; and if the information regarding unlicensed frequency network has not been received, determining whether to use the second set of cellular network and unlicensed frequency network interworking parameters after the handover.

Abstract:
According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided an apparatus including at least one processing core, at least one memory including computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code being configured to, with the at least one processing core, cause the apparatus at least to obtain an uplink transmission configuration including information on at least one secondary cell candidate frequency, transmit a signal in the uplink in accordance with the uplink transmission configuration on the at least one secondary cell candidate frequency, during a connection establishment procedure which transitions the apparatus from an idle mode to a connected mode, and receive a resource aggregation configuration from a network.
Abstract:
According to a first embodiment, a method may include receiving, by a user equipment, at least one indication that the user equipment is allowed to skip paging monitoring after a paging message is successfully decoded. The method may further include determining, by the user equipment, that the user equipment can end paging monitoring based upon received wake-up signaling configuration data. The method may further include entering, by the user equipment, an extended discontinuous reception sleep mode.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for multiple system information handling are provided. One method includes receiving, by a UE, one or more instances of system information from the network. For example, the system information may be received in one or more SIBs from an eNB. In one example, the instances of system information may include at least one of legacy system information or eMTC system information. The method may further include determining which of the received instances of system information the UE should use.

Abstract:
In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory storing computer program code with the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the processor, cause the apparatus at least to: determine whether criteria that defines at least one condition under which assistance information is to be provided to a network has been satisfied; and cause the assistance information to be provided to the network in an instance in which the criteria has been satisfied.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and computer program product are described for reducing delay when making a network connection between user equipment (UE) and a network node when a tracking area update (TAU) request has been denied during LTE reselection. Following a revised signaling protocol, a UE can avoid activation of a NAS Attach Retry timer and move directly to establishing a connection to the network, reducing the UE communications delay from about eleven seconds to less than one second.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for signaling. In some example embodiments, there is provided a method. The method may include making mobility information including visited cell history available based on at least received mobility state estimation configuration information; and reporting, by the user equipment, the mobility information including the visited cell history. Related systems, methods, and articles of manufacture are also disclosed.
