    Abstract: A method for harmonized operation between radio link monitor and beam failure recovery is proposed. In one example, upon indication of unsuccessful recovery from beam failure, a counter is initiated to count a configured number of OOS indication before RLF is declared due to beam failure. In another example, upon indication of successful recovery from beam failure, a counter is initiated to count a configured number of IS indication before starting over RLM procedure on its previous observations on failed beams. As a result, either early RLF declaration or RLM reset may be triggered based on BFR procedure to more accurately maintain the link quality.

    Abstract: A method for expediting Secondary Cell (SCell) activation is proposed. Under the proposed enhanced direct SCell activation procedure, while adding an SCell to be activated state, the network can add transmission configuration indication (TCI) state information for the SCell in a radio resource control (RRC) signaling message, in addition to TCI state information for a list of candidate TCI states. Upon receiving the RRC signaling message, UE adds the SCell accordingly, and then activates the SCell based on the received TCI state information. Because there is no additional time required for receiving and processing the TCI state information via a media access control (MAC) control element (CE), the SCell activation time is reduced.

    Abstract: A method is provided for TCI switching related to CSI-RS measurement and reporting, spatial relation switch for SRS, PUSCH, and PUCCH. The PDSCH and PDCCH are received according to the QCLed aperiodic CSI-RS. When the AP CSI-RS is configured as the reference in the TCI of PDSCH, UE may apply the updated TCI for the PDSCH, after the corresponding aperiodic report has been received at the network. Spatial relation switch is based on the valid measurement report. The spatial relation switch delay of aperiodic SRS can be performed when UE has sent the corresponding measurement report to the network.

    Abstract: A user equipment terminal (UE) in a wireless network calculates a measurement period for measuring the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) for a serving cell within a frequency range. The calculation is based on a channel measurement resource (CMR) and an interference measurement resource (IMR). The calculation includes evaluation of a sharing factor P, which is a maximum of PCMR of the CMR and PIMR of the IMR. The PCMR and the PIMR are evaluated, at least in part, based on periodicity of the CMR and the IMR in relation to other periodic measurements performed by the UE. The UE performs a channel measurement and an interference measurement using the CMR and the IMR, respectively, over the measurement period. The UE calculates the SINR based on the channel measurement and the interference measurement; and transmits an SINR measurement report indicating the calculated SINR to a base station.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide apparatuses and methods for wireless communications. One apparatus includes processing circuitry that selects one or more first available radio link monitoring reference signal (RLM-RS) samples from a plurality of received RLM-RS samples based on signal qualities of the one or more first available RLM-RS samples. The one or more first available RLM-RS samples are received within a first evaluation period. The processing circuitry determines whether a total number of the one or more first available RLM-RS samples is less than a target number. When the total number of the one or more first available RLM-RS samples is determined to be less than the target number, the processing circuitry determines a second evaluation period that is greater than the first evaluation period, and performs an RLM procedure in an unlicensed band within the second evaluation period.
