Abstract:
A pump beam irradiates the surface of a semiconductor sample through modulator while irradiating the surface with a probe beam so that a detector measures a light-modulated spectrum of the probe beam reflected from the surface of the semiconductor sample. Then, surface electric field strength is calculated from the period of Franz-Keldysh oscillations appearing in the light-modulated spectrum, and the surface recombination velocity and surface Fermi level are calculated based on a relation between the surface electric field strength and the probe beam power density.
Abstract:
A commodity inspection system attaches a ferromagnetic body to a genuine commodity in advance and detects the magnetic characteristic of the ferromagnetic body so as to judge whether the inspection object is a genuine commodity. The system includes: an magnetization coil for applying a magnetic field changing at a predetermined frequency to a inspection object; a detection coil for detecting the change of the magnetic flux density caused by the magnetic field change; an FFT unit for acquiring a frequency spectrum corresponding to magnetic flux density change; and a judgment unit for judging whether the inspection object is a genuine commodity according to the acquired frequency spectrum. The ferromagnetic body causes a steep magnetization reversal when a magnetic field exceeding its coercive force is applied. Unlike an ordinary ferromagnetic body, in this ferromagnetic body, the frequency spectrum corresponding to the change of magnetic flux density caused by the magnetic field changing at a low frequency has a high-frequency component of large amplitude. Accordingly, it is possible to easily judge whether the inspection commodity is genuine commodity.

Abstract:
In a method of evaluating a piezoelectric field, non-destructive spectrometry of piezoelectric fields is performed in a semiconductor heterojunction using a technique different from PR spectroscopy. In the method, at first, first and second absorption spectra are measured by irradiating the sample with infrared light at first and second angles, respectively. Then, a peak position of an absorption band having incident-angle dependent intensity is specified, based on the first and second absorption spectra. Thus, the piezoelectric field strength is obtained using a relationship between the piezoelectric field and an electron energy level corresponding to the peak position.

An excess current detection and control circuit for a power source system to provide an overall electric current to a device to be tested, includes: a plurality of device power sources connected in parallel with each other to form the power source system whereby supplying an electric current to the device wherein each of the device power sources is provided with a predetermined excess current level flowing to the device and maintaining the excess current without further increasing the electric current level and generates an excess current detection signal when the electric current reaching the excess current level, a power source condition monitor device connected to the plurality of device power sources for receiving the excess current detection signal from each of the device power sources and generating an interruption signal only when receiving the excess current detection signal from each and all of the device power sources connected to the device to be tested, and a central processor unit for determining whether the overall current flowing through the device under test is larger than a predetermined excess current level of the device under test when receiving the interruption signal from the power source condition monitor device.
Abstract:
A paper surface cleaning device for cleaning a surface of a printing paper running before being fed to a printing portion of a printing machine, which comprises a cleaning sheet having a water holding capacity in contact with the surface of the printing paper with a difference in running velocity between the printing paper and the cleaning sheet, a dampening roller which has, at its surface, a wettability so that water is attached to the surface of the dampening roller and which functions to push the cleaning sheet onto the surface of the printing paper, and a water pan into which the dampening roller is dipped partially. An even water film can be formed on the surface of the dampening roller to enable the cleaning sheet to get wet uniformly in its widthwise direction.
Abstract:
An ink fountain has at least one position display means for displaying the position of each ductor blade piece to be preset before printing and at least one position indicating means for indicating an actual position of the blade piece. A gap between the distal end of the blade piece and the surface of an ink fountain roller is adjusted in such a manner that the actual position of the blade piece is registered with the position, to be preset, of the blade piece by operating an adjusting member.
Abstract:
A method for registering in an offset printing press comprises: mounting a printing plate on a shiftable table of a plate bending machine; detecting datum fine lines on said plate, by means of optical sensors; shifting the shiftable table so that said datum fine lines are placed at specific positions; inscribing, by means of a register mark inscribing device, register marks for carrying out automatic registering while, at the same time, bending the lateral edges of the printing plate; thereafter mounting the printing plate on a corresponding plate cylinder of a printing press; and carrying out automatic registering. The above plate bending machine comprises plate bending mechanisms, a shiftable table for holding the printing plate, optical detection sensors disposed above the shiftable table and operating to detect datum lines on the plate and thereby to generate signals for the movement of the table and register mark inscribing devices for automatic registering on a plate cylinder of the printing press.
Abstract:
A method for forming or marking register marks used for the automatic registration between a plurality of printing plates in a printing press. A register mark forming or marking device is mounted on a printing frame of an automatic composer so that a register mark can be formed or marked on a printing plate simultaneously with the printing of a film original over the printing plate. Misalignment between the thus formed or marked register marks and patterns or images can be eliminated.
