    Abstract: A communications method and apparatus, where the method includes: sending, by a session management network element, first indication information when the session management network element determines, based on first information, to establish a first low-latency service flow for a session, wherein the first indication information is used to indicate to set the session to an always-on session. According to solutions of this application, when determining to establish the low-latency service flow, the session management network element flexibly indicates to a terminal apparatus to set the session to the always-on session. This avoids a resource waste caused by setting the session to the always-on session all the time, and avoids a transmission latency caused when the session is not set to the always-on session in time, such that resource utilization and transmission efficiency are improved.

    Abstract: Example network-based adaptive streaming media parameter adjustment methods and apparatuses are disclosed. One example method includes receiving, by an access network device, media QoS information from a session management network element, where the media QoS information includes at least two bit rate indicators and QoS requirement information corresponding to each of the bit rate indicators. The access network device determines, based on a current network condition and the media QoS information, a target bit rate indicator from the at least two bit rate indicators. The target bit rate indicator is sent to a terminal or a video server, where the current network condition meets a network requirement for transmitting streaming media data at a bit rate indicated by the target bit rate indicator.

    Abstract: This application provides a communication method and apparatus. The method includes: An EASDF receives an identifier of a target service from a first terminal; the EASDF obtains an address of a same target application server that needs to be accessed by a plurality of terminals including the first terminal to access the target service; and the EASDF sends the address of the target application server to the first terminal. Hence, the EASDF obtains, for a same target service, identifiers (referred to as a UE list) of a plurality of UEs that need to access a same EAS. After UE (for example, UE #1) in the UE list performs an EAS discovery procedure for the target service, the EASDF obtains an address of the target EAS, and sends, to another UE in the list, an address of the target EAS that is the same as an address of the UE #1.

    Abstract: A domain name system query method in which: a first network element receives a DNS query request including a first domain name from a terminal apparatus; the first network element sends first request information which comprises location information of the terminal apparatus and the first domain name to a second network element; the second network element determines, based on the first request information, an IP address and feeds back the IP address to the first network element; and the first network element sends the IP address to the terminal apparatus. When a terminal apparatus performs domain name query, a core network element determines an IP address of an application server based on location information of the terminal apparatus and a queried domain name. In this way, the terminal apparatus obtains an IP address of an application server close to the terminal apparatus, thereby improving service access efficiency of the terminal apparatus.

    Abstract: A transmission method and a communication apparatus provide a source access network device receives first data and a first identifier. The first identifier indicates a last data packet of the first data, and the first data is data in a first periodicity of a periodic service. The source access network device sends a handover command to a terminal device in a first time period. A start moment of the first time period is a moment at which the last data packet is sent, an end moment of the first time period is an end moment of the first periodicity, and the handover command instructs the terminal device to perform a handover to a target access network device. This avoids interruption of sending the first data by the source access network device due to the handover and improves transmission reliability of the periodic service.
