Abstract: A polar encoding and rate matching method is provided, including: determining one or more to-be-deleted rows of a generator matrix, where the generator matrix is determined based on a preset mother code length, and a column in which 1 in the one or more to-be-deleted rows is located includes at least one column with a column weight being 1; deleting, from the one or more to-be-deleted rows, a row corresponding to a polarized channel with lowest reliability, and deleting, from a column in which 1 in the row is located, a column with a column weight being 1, to obtain an after-deletion generator matrix; using the after-deletion generator matrix as a generator matrix to repeat the foregoing steps, until an order of a final generator matrix is equal to a target code length; and performing encoding and rate matching on a to-be-encoded bit based on the final generator matrix.

Abstract: The disclosure includes a communication method and a communication apparatus. The communication method includes the communication apparatus determining to use a reserved tone, determining a reference signal pattern and a tone reservation (TR) pattern, and performing data transmission based on the reference signal pattern and the TR pattern. The reference signal pattern includes a first reference signal sub-pattern and a second reference signal sub-pattern, and the second reference signal sub-pattern is an offset of the first reference signal sub-pattern in time domain and/or frequency domain. According to the method, a reference signal pattern having a plurality of different sub-patterns may be provided, so that reference signals are unevenly distributed on a bandwidth. In this way, even if a reference signal density is high, a large secondary peak value of a kernel time domain signal generated on a subcarrier used as a reserved tone can be avoided, thereby improving peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) suppression performance.

Abstract: The technology of this application relates to a random access method, applied to the communication field. The method includes a terminal device sends, to a network device, a first message used to establish a wireless connection, the terminal device receives, a connection response sent by the network device, where the connection response includes information about a first polarization parameter, and when accessing the network device based on the connection response, the terminal device determines, based on the information about the first polarization parameter included in the connection response, whether the terminal device is qualified to access the network device. A dimension, namely, a polarization parameter, is introduced into a random access procedure, so that a preamble capacity is increased, a problem that the network device cannot identify a colliding terminal device is alleviated, and efficiency of establishing a communication connection between the terminal device and the network device is improved.

When quality of a link from a terminal device to a source gateway station through a satellite is poor, the source gateway station sends third indication information to a target gateway station, so that the target gateway station feeds back second channel quality to the source gateway station, that is, quality of a link from the terminal device to the target gateway station through the satellite. The source gateway station determines, based on the second channel quality and first channel quality that represents the quality of the link from the terminal device to the source gateway station through the satellite, whether to switch the terminal device to the target gateway station.

Abstract: This application discloses a random access preamble configuration method applicable to a satellite network and a communication apparatus. In the method, a random access preamble location offset and duration of a PRACH occasion can be flexibly configured based on features of a satellite system. The method includes: A receiving apparatus receives first indication information, where the first indication information includes indication information used to identify the random access preamble location offset at the physical random access channel PRACH occasion. The receiving apparatus transmits a random preamble based on the first indication information, where the random preamble includes a sequence part and a guard time. Because a communication distance is relatively long and a transmission delay difference between users is relatively large in a satellite communication system, time domain resources occupied by the PRACH occasion can be minimized by using this method.
