Abstract: Systems and methods for overlaying virtual objects in a virtual environment based on user interest and user interactions are disclosed. The methods analyze a live view of a surface viewed through camera or a transparent lens and determine if the policies of the surface allow overlaying of virtual objects. The method fetches a virtual object and calculates a score based on user interest, user gaze, and user engagement. Virtual objects that meet the policies of the surface and a scoring criterion are overlayed on the surface in the virtual environment and enhanced based on a plurality of enhancement factors. Virtual objects are also overlayed in frames of a live broadcast based on their scores. Virtual objects displayed on a conference call interface, which may be meeting tools or icons associated with other conferencing functionality, are enhanced, or removed from the user interface based on their utilization.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enabling improved video conferencing. A stream comprising a plurality of pictures is received at a computing device. For each picture in the plurality of pictures, the picture is decoded, the decoded picture is stored in a decoded pictures buffer and it is identified that the decoded picture is below a threshold quality. For a first decoded picture that is not below the threshold quality, the decoded picture is stored in a display buffer, accessed from the display buffer, and output for display. For a second decoded pictured that is below threshold quality, a previously output picture is continued to be output for display.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for connecting devices in a manner that is quick and user-friendly. Enhanced audible communications are leveraged to bypass a need to reference a visual-based user interface. The enhanced audible communications are provided for smartphones having a virtual assistant layer. Connection scenarios including failure to connect, multiple users with multiple devices in a small or enclosed space, unexpected or undesired connections with nearby devices, weak signal, low data transmission, movement away from a range of the wireless connection, and the like are resolved. Parental controls are provided. Artificial intelligence systems, including neural networks, are trained for the connecting process. Models are developed for improving the connecting process. Abstract: Systems and methods for alleviating neck pain during media consumption. The methods and systems comprise determining, using control circuitry a current orientation of each of a user's head and a user device, determining an environmental parameter relating to the user's environment, determining a range of permitted orientations of the user's head based on the environmental parameter and the current orientations of the user's head and the user device, determining, using control circuitry, whether the orientation of the user's head is outside of the range of permitted orientations, and in response to determining that the orientation of the user's head is outside of a range of permitted orientations, causing, using control circuitry, a change in a mode of display of the user device.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for conforming audio to a video to avoid discordance. This may be accomplished by a system receiving a video and selection of an audio asset. The system may identify a plurality of break points in the audio asset based on one or more characteristics of the audio asset. A first portion of the audio asset may be generated based on one or more characteristics of the received video (e.g., length of the video), wherein the first portion of the audio asset begins and/or ends at a break point of the plurality of break points. The system may then generate a media item comprising the video and the first portion of the audio asset.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are described herein for generating, for presentation at a particular computing device, a display of a live program and determining that the display of the live program at the particular computing device is delayed in relation to a live program stream of the live program. Interactive content related to a particular event that is to occur in the live program stream of the live program may be received, the interactive content enabling selection of a predicted outcome of the particular event. Prior to presentation of the particular event in the display of the live program at the particular computing device, the interactive content may be generated for presentation at the particular computing device, and a selection of the predicted outcome is received. Based on determining an outcome of the particular event, an indication of whether the predicted outcome was correct may be generated for presentation.
