Abstract:
This invention provides a first communication apparatus, which makes a facsimile communication via a packet communication network and can describe different contents image header information each including a date, time, source information, destination information, and the like in image data having a predetermined number of pixels upon sending the image data to a plurality of destinations, and a communication method. This invention also provides a second communication apparatus which makes a facsimile communication via a packet communication network and has a first mode in which image header information such as a date, time, source information, destination information, and the like can be described in image data having a predetermined number of pixels and can send the image data, and a second mode in which image data having one of various resolutions and an indefinite number of pixels can be sent.
Abstract:
To provide an e-mail communication apparatus, an e-mail communication method and a program capable of, in the case of receiving e-mail which is split e-mails including request-to-send (RTS) information for transmitting the e-mail to a predetermined destination, suitably performing transmittal confirmation without transmitting to a source the e-mail of the transmittal confirmation as to each of multiple pieces of the split e-mails. First, an MFP 100 having received the e-mail determines whether or not the e-mail is one of multiple divided data pieces generated by dividing image data by a data amount so as to store it. In the case where the received data is the divided data, the MFP 100 determines whether or not all the divided data pieces of the image data are stored, and transmits transmittal confirmation mail based on an MDN request if all are stored.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to specifying a sender in detail when image data is attached to email and transmitted from an Internet facsimile device. An MFP (100) has an E-mail transmission mode in which email with an image is transmitted to a general email address, and an IFAX transmission mode in which email with an image is transmitted to an apparatus copying with the IFAX function. In transmitting an image, the MFP (100) authenticates the user in cooperation with an authentication server (102). When the authenticated user selects the IFAX transmission mode, an email address corresponding to the user is acquired from the authentication server (102), and set in the Sender field. The From field holds the email address of a device, similar to the prior art.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus which is capable of enhancing security in transmitting an electronic mail to a destination mail address, using a transmission protocol, without degrading operability. A MFP 100 is connected to an authentication server 102 and a mail server 120 via a network, for transmitting an E-mail via the mail server according to SMTP. A user name and a password are entered in a user name entry screen. The MFP 100 requests the authentication server 102 to authenticate the entered user name and password. When the user name and the password are authenticated, the MFP 100 is operable to acquire an E-mail address 232, a SMTP authentication user name 233, and a SMTP authentication password 234 according to SMTP associated with the authenticated user name and password from the authentication server 102. The MFP 100 requests the mail server 103 to authenticate the acquired SMTP authentication user name 233 and SMTP authentication password 234 according to SMTP. When the SMTP authentication user name 233 and the SMTP authentication password 234 are authenticated, the MFP is operable to transmit an E-mail to the mail server 103 according to SMTP.
Abstract:
This invention provides an apparatus which can manage both application data and image data in a database, and transmit application data reusable by a computer. In this invention, both application data and image data which is created from the application data and formed from pages are registered in a database in accordance with database registration information. The database registration information and image data are composited to create and print a distribution material. The database registration information is extracted and reproduced from the distribution material in accordance with the contents of a transmission instruction. The database is searched by using the reproduced database registration information, and data is transmitted.
Abstract:
In an image processing apparatus which executes a process for document data in a data management unit that manages, as the document data, at least one of application data created by application software and image data converted into a predetermined format on the basis of the application data, an operation window containing document information on the document data managed in the data management unit and a designation unit for designating editing operation to the document data is displayed. When editing operation to the document data for which the application data and image data are managed as the document data is designated via the designation unit in the operation window, notification information representing information on consistency/inconsistency between the application data and the image data is output.
Abstract:
An information recording and/or reproducing apparatus for recording data onto and/or reproducing data from a recording medium by irradiating a light beam emitted from a light source onto a desired track of the recording medium through an optical system. The apparatus includes (i) a single processor for executing an input/output control of the data for the apparatus and a servo process of the light beam such that the input/output control of the data and the servo process of the light beam are alternately switched at a predetermined period, and (ii) an actuator for moving the light beam on the basis of the servo process of the processor. The precision of the servo process is changed so that the precision is increased when an amount of an external disturbance is large.
Abstract:
An information recording/reproducing apparatus for recording information on and/or reproducing information from a recording medium using a head. The apparatus includes a single processor and a memory device. The single processor executes data input/output processing and servo processing of a light beam from the head, while alternately switching at a predetermined period. The servo processing is divided into a plurality of blocks which are cyclically executed in turn for each predetermined period and processing required to be executed in each period is set in each block and processing not required to be executed in each period is set in only a specific block. The memory device stores contents of the processing for the respective blocks.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a communication apparatus in which it is possible to change the size of data transmitted at one time, the data size being changed to one size in case of transmission of e-mail via a mail server and to different size in case of transmission that is not performed via a mail server. E-mail data having image data as an attached file is generated and it is determined whether a predetermined server will intervene when e-mail is transmitted to a transmission destination. When it has been decided that the destination will be a mail server, it is determined whether the e-mail data has exceeded a prescribed size. E-mail data for which it has been determined that the prescribed size is exceeded is divided into a plurality of segments and then the e-mail data is transmitted to destination decided.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus capable of notifying a receiver of a reception mail error or transmission mail error by printing or the like and preventing incorrect data or error notification mail from being transferred or stored without notifying the user of the error, and a control method and storage medium therefor. To accomplish this, when analysis of electronic mail data reveals a MIME analysis error, BASE64 decoding error, TIFF analysis error, or image decoding error, i.e., when data which cannot be handled by the communication apparatus is contained, a global variable FORWARD is set to “1”. Also, when the received electronic mail is an error notification mail, the variable FORWARD is set to “1”. When the variable FORWARD is set to “1”, transfer and BOX storage of the received mail are inhibited, and the mail is printed by a printer section (2). When the variable FORWARD is not set to “1”, the received mail is transferred to the designated transfer destination or stored by BOX storage.
