In the present invention, a method for cutting a nonmetal material is provided. The method includes steps of (a) generating a tension stress on a surface of the nonmetal material by exerting a bending stress thereon; (b) providing a thermal effect along a path direction on the surface, wherein the thermal effect grows along a direction opposite to the path direction; (c) providing a first cryogenic effect in a first incident direction along the path direction; and (d) providing a second cryogenic effect in a second incident direction along the path direction, wherein a crack along the path direction on the surface is formed as a result of the tension stress, the thermal effect, and the cryogenic effects therealong for cutting the nonmetal material.

A soft zoom lens system includes an axially expandable or shrinkable holding portion, a supporting portion, a first lens and a second lens. This holding portion has an inner space, a first end and a second end. The supporting portion is made by a soft material. The first lens is disposed between the first end and the supporting portion. The second lens is disposed between the second end and the supporting portion. When this holding portion is applied by predetermined electricity, it will expand or to shrink axially. So, the curvatures of the first lens and the second lens will be changed. The zooming is performed. The invention's structure is simple. The adjusting of focal length is easy. The production is easy with low cost.

A lens inspection device and method are provided. The lens inspection method includes the steps of providing a collimating light beam, polarizing the collimating light beam by a polarizer to produce a polarized light beam, deflecting the polarized light beam by a lens to be measured to produce a deflected light beam, providing a phase retardation plate through which a polarized compensation image is generated, and comparing the polarized compensation image with a lookup table having standard color values of a plurality of standard polarization compensated images recorded therein, so as to determine whether a deformation is presented on the lens.

A method for measuring propagation loss in a plane light guide plate, which includes the following steps of making an input light generated by an input light generator pass through an optical coupler, an optical reflection device individually or pass through the optical coupler first and then the optical reflection device, and finally propagate toward an optical measurement device to obtain at least one optical parameter according to the optical coupler, the optical reflection device or the combination thereof; and making the input light pass through the optical coupler and then the plane light guide plate, and further pass through the plane light guide plate from one side thereof toward the optical reflection device in order to reflect the input light toward the optical measurement device, so as to obtain a propagation loss of the plane light guide plate according to the at least one optical parameter.

A keyboard thermal transfer printer is provided under the working platform of the keyboard thermal transfer printer with a translation drive having an electrically driven ball screw to precisely control the locating point of the lower working die seat on the working platform in a stepless driving manner. The longitudinal supports and load board of the working platform are constructed as a primary and an auxiliary work area, and respectively provided with a spindle system and an impression system. An infrared thermal sensor is disposed in the auxiliary work area to irradiate infrared rays on the press plate impression element and reflects the operating temperature of the impression element. The parameters of each function of the control box are corrected to obtain the optimum operating temperature for keyboard thermal transfer printing, thereby maintaining the consistency of the quality of images produced by keyboard surface thermal transfer printing.

A lens measuring device and method applied therein. The lens measuring device includes a light source, a first polarizer, a second polarizer, and an image analysis module. The method includes enabling the light source to orderly pass through the first polarizer, a lens to be measured, and the second polarizer to generate a light beam to be measured, and then enabling the image analysis module to analyze image-related information of the light beam to be measured, consequently deducing the structural center and energy distribution of the lens to be measured, and then further analyzing errors in polarity and skewness of the lens to be measured. By applying a common light source, the method is spared complicated correction that is otherwise required when a conventional collimating laser light source is applied, and the method can also easily and simultaneously test a plurality of lenses to be measured.

A hinge assembly includes a base-side support member and a monitor-side bracket set being pivotally connected to each other at two pivot shafts on the base-side support member. Elastic washers and anti-skidding washers are sequentially put around the pivot shafts with a separate washer of a predetermined thickness disposed between any two adjacent components of the hinge assembly on the pivot shafts. The separate washer is made of a highly pressure-resistant and wear-resistant material, such as high-molecular polymers, including, for example, Teflon, nylon, ABS resin, PC, PW, Bakelite, or other materials having similar properties. When nuts are tightened against the pivot shafts to firmly lock the components on the pivot shafts together with a selected torque, the separate washers separate and prevent such components from direct and frictional contact with one another.
