Abstract:
Upon receipt of an access request from a Web terminal, a service providing server transmits a shop ID stored in an external information database to the Web terminal. When the shop ID is selected by the Web terminal, the service providing server acquires external connection destination information, and notifies a SIP proxy server of the information via the Web terminal. When notified of the information, the SIP proxy server identifies internal connection destination information in an internal information database, based on an IP address added at the time of the notification of the external connection destination information. After making a call to a telephone device with the use of the identified internal connection destination information, the SIP proxy server makes a call to the shop with the use of the external connection destination information. After that, the SIP proxy server establishes a connection between the telephone device and the shop.
Abstract:
Systems and methods according to the exemplary embodiments provide for chat session handling in IPTV systems. A chat server can be configured to forward text messages associated with a particular chat session toward an IPTV terminal for output thereon. Chat message entry can be performed by using a wireless text entry device, e.g., a mobile phone. An IPTV control server can be configured to recognize a request for a chat session which involves output of chat messages on an IPTV terminal, and to verify that the user has a linked mobile phone and IPTV subscriptions.
Abstract:
A signal processing system which discriminates between voice signals and data signals modulated by a voiceband carrier. The signal processing system includes a voice exchange, a data exchange and a call discriminator. The voice exchange is capable of exchanging voice signals between a switched circuit network and a packet based network. The signal processing system also includes a data exchange capable of exchanging data signals modulated by a voiceband carrier on the switched circuit network with unmodulated data signal packets on the packet based network. The data exchange is performed by demodulating data signals from the switched circuit network for transmission on the packet based network, and modulating data signal packets from the packet based network for transmission on the switched circuit network. The call discriminator is used to selectively enable the voice exchange and data exchange.
Abstract:
According to the present invention, simultaneous call-handling and data transfer is achieved between a terminal and a multi-line gateway in a cordless telephony environment. Multiple logical channels are established and used as signaling resources for calls on the multiple lines, and also for data transfers between the gateway and terminal. As a result, terminals can handle multiple calls on different lines and at the same time access data stored at the gateway. According to a first aspect of the present invention, two or more logical channels are established over an asynchronous channel between a terminal and a gateway. These logical channels are assigned to calls that are set-up between the terminal and gateway. When used as a signaling resource, the logical channels allow the terminal to distinguish between signaling information for multiple simultaneous calls. The calls are associated with another speech or data channel that will bear the voice signal, referred to herein as a bearer channel. According to a second aspect of the present invention, a logical channel is also established over an asynchronous channel to handle data transfers between the gateway and terminal. Using this logical channel, the terminal can access data stored at the gateway without disrupting any ongoing calls.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for processing a packet in a voice and data integration system are provided. The voice and data integration apparatus includes: a digital signal processor (DSP) for decoding a packet into PCM (pulse code modulation) data; and a host driver for receiving one or more packets from an Internet protocol (IP) network for a predetermined time, storing the received packets in storage regions in the order of sequence numbers, and transmitting the packets to the DSP in the order of the sequence numbers when the predetermined time has elapsed. Accordingly, a quality of voice in voice communication using the voice and data integration apparatus is guaranteed to a maximal extent.
Abstract:
An improved system and method are disclosed for peer-to-peer communications. In one example, the method is for connecting an endpoint that is separated from another endpoint by a symmetric network address translation device.
Abstract:
Methods and systems of routing calls over a network are described herein. A latency measurement is performed for at least a plurality of portions of a plurality of network paths and storing latency measurement information in computer readable memory. A dropped packet measurement is performed for at least portions of the plurality of network paths and storing dropped packet measurement information in computer readable memory. A call origination request is received. A network routing path is selected from the plurality of network paths, the network paths including a call manager, based at least in part on the latency measurement information and the dropped packet measurement information. A proxy system associated with a SIP provider is informed of the call. The call manager in the selected network path generates the call.
Abstract:
A multimedia gateway for enabling a remote device to access a local device located in a private network via a residential gateway of the private network is provided. The multimedia gateway includes: connecting means for connecting to the private network and a multimedia service network, first receiving means for receiving authentication information from the remote device over the private network, storing means for storing the authentication information in a memory, second receiving means for receiving a session invite message from the remote device over the multimedia service network, the session invite message including authentication information, and authenticating means for authenticating the remote device by determining whether or not the authentication information included in the session invite message has been stored in the memory by the storing means.
Abstract:
A device for accessing a network based on automatic speech-recognition includes an audio port configured to communicate audio signals with a customer premise equipment (CPE) device and a data packet port configured to communicate data packets with the network. The device also includes a processor configured to convert the audio signals into the data packets and vice versa, detect in the audio signals from the CPE device a verbal command to dial a telephone number, and enable a dialing of the telephone number through the network.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus supporting the handling of multimedia information using simulcasting using a broadband access gateway are disclosed. A broadband access gateway supporting both a personal area network and a broadband network may receive multimedia information during exchanges between access devices over a wireless wide area network. The wireless wide area network may intercept multimedia information, and may, for example, determine that the access device of the recipient is incompatible with the multimedia information. The wide area network may then redirect the multimedia information to a broadband access gateway that may cause the storage of the received multimedia information. In another representative embodiment of the present invention, the wide area network may adapt intercepted multimedia information to be compatible with the access device of the recipient, and may also redirect the original intercepted multimedia information to a broadband access gateway. The broadband access gateway may then cause the original intercepted multimedia information to be stored for later access. A recipient of the multimedia attachment or information may be notified of the redirection of the multimedia attachment or information, and may retrieve the stored multimedia information using a wired or wireless access device.
