Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating beam management enhancements in model-based channel tracking are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a first network entity includes receiving from a second network entity, a model configuration indicative of a model condition of a channel between the first network entity and the second network entity for multiple beam pairs. The example method also includes tracking a variation in a channel condition relative to the model condition of the channel based on the model configuration for each of multiple beam pairs separately in multiple tracking sessions that overlap in time. Each beam pair may include a transmission beam and a reception beam.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques at a user equipment (UE) provide for indicating multiple beams to a base station for communications with the base station after detecting a beam failure. Using these techniques, the UE may rely on multi-beam operation to recover communications with the base station. The UE may transmit a random-access preamble indicating a first beam for communications with the base station, and the UE may transmit a control element in a data channel indicating a second beam for communications with the base station. In some cases, the messages used to carry the indications of the multiple beams may be based on a type of random-access procedure used to recover communications (e.g., a contention-based random-access (CBRA) procedure, a contention-free random-access (CFRA) procedure, or a two-step random-access procedure).

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for multi-beam operation at a user equipment (UE). In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a beam report indicating a number of simultaneous transmit beams supported by the UE. The UE may receive a common beam indication for multiple TCI states. The UE may select at least one TCI state as an uplink component for a common beam and may communicate with a base station (BS) using the common beam. The UE may receive control signaling enabling a group-based beam reporting mode at the UE and an indication to apply a group-based beam reporting configuration for uplink beam reporting. The UE may selectively enable or disable the group-based beam reporting configuration. The UE may report multiple reference signal resource indices for multiple reference signals. The UE may transmit the reference signals using multiple spatial domain transmit filters.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communications. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a configuration message indicating a first beam associated with an uplink control transmission and downlink control information (DCI) indicating a second beam associated with the uplink data transmission. The UE may select the first beam or the second beam based on an overlap in time between the uplink control transmission and the uplink data transmission. The base station may identify the first beam or the second beam based on the overlap between the uplink control transmission and the uplink data transmission. The UE may transmit, and a base station may receive, at least a portion of the uplink control transmission and at least a portion of the uplink data transmission using the selected first beam or second beam.
