    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may request to change its radio resource control (RRC) parameters by transmitting a UE assistance information message to a base station. However, the existing RRC parameters that a UE may request to change via a UE assistance information message may not be inadequate for some UEs and may cause a high signaling overhead. The aspects described herein include an apparatus that obtains configuration information for a UE assistance information message, the configuration information indicating a set of parameters the apparatus is allowed to indicate in the UE assistance information message, the set of parameters including at least one of an operation complexity control parameter, a network coverage control parameter, or a channel monitoring control parameter. The apparatus transmits the UE assistance information message, wherein the UE assistance information message is based on at least a portion of the set of parameters.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques described herein relate to a user equipment (UE) that may include a wakeup radio in addition to a main radio to monitor for wakeup signals while the UE is in a sleep mode. The wakeup radio receiver may use less power than the main radio. In some examples, a first UE may indicate to a wireless node (e.g., a controlling sidelink UE or a network entity) that the UE is capable of sending wakeup signals to a second UE. In such examples, the wireless node may transmit a wakeup signal intended for the second UE to the first UE based on the capability report. The first UE may relay the wakeup signal to the second UE. Responsive to receiving the wakeup signal, the second UE may wake up the main radio of the second UE for communications.

    Abstract: Techniques to enable and provide beam failure recovery (BFR) operation for discontinuous reception (DRX) modes with wakeup signal (WUS) monitoring are described. DRX mode operation may be altered based on a BFR procedure implemented by a user equipment (UE). DRX mode operation may be altered for allowing a UE to start a DRX active time after transmitting a BFR request signal of a BFR procedure. Additionally or alternatively, DRX mode operation may be altered for allowing a UE to start an ON duration timer for a next DRX cycle after transmitting a BFR request signal of a BFR procedure. In another example, DRX mode operation may be altered for allowing a UE to monitor a BFR search space set regardless of DRX status, after transmitting a BFR request signal for a BFR procedure. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may perform a random access channel (RACH) procedure with a base station. The UE may receive a message configuring a RACH preamble occasion and an uplink data occasion. The message may be a radio resource control (RRC) message or a system information (SI) message. In some cases, the UE may determine if the RACH preamble occasion, the uplink data occasion, or both are restricted for cancellation based on the message. The UE may determine when to monitor a downlink control channel for dynamic scheduling based on determining which occasions are restricted for cancellation and may transmit a RACH message based on monitoring—or not monitoring—the downlink control channel for dynamic scheduling preempting a RACH occasion. In some other cases, a base station may schedule transmissions to not overlap with configured RACH occasions.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of at least one of: one or more anchor cells associated with a target cell, or one or more target cells, including the target cell, associated with an anchor cell included in the one or more anchor cells. The UE may transmit, to the anchor cell, an indication of the target cell and an indication of a target beam index associated with the target cell as part of an initial access procedure with the anchor cell.
