Abstract: Techniques for handover procedure management are described herein. An example method may include monitoring, at a target base station, reference signal information associated with a UE based on a reference signal configuration of the UE received by the target base station from a source base station. Additionally, the example method may include estimating, at the target base station, timing information for the UE based on the reference signal information. Further, the example method may include transmitting, by the target base station, the timing information to the source base station, where the source base station provides the timing information to the UE for handover to the target base station.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide procedures for handling interruption due to carrier switching for sounding reference signal transmission and for a carrier switching capability indication. A method by a user equipment (UE) is provided, generally including interrupting communication on a first component carrier (CC) to switch between the first CC and a second CC to transmit an uplink reference signal on the second CC and adjusting one or more parameters of an uplink transmission on the first component carrier to account for the interrupting communication on the second CC. In aspects, another method is provided in which, a UE receives a query from a base station for switching capability information of the UE for one or more carrier aggregation (CA) configurations and, in response to the query, provides an indication to the BS of the switching capability information of the UE for the one or more CA configurations.

Abstract: Various aspects described herein relate to dynamic uplink antenna port management. A user equipment (UE) may receive reference signal configuration information from a base station. The UE may configure one or more uplink antenna ports based on the received reference signal configuration information and transmit one or more reference signals to the base station on the one or more uplink antenna port. The UE may receive uplink configuration information for one or more data channels and/or one or more control channels. The UE may configure one or more uplinks antenna ports based on the uplink configuration information and may transmit one or more uplink signals on the one or more data channels and/or one or more control channels. The uplink configuration information may be based at least one the one or more reference signals transmitted to the base station.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for employing a neighboring cell's assistance information for interference mitigation (e.g., by conveying the information to a user equipment). A base station (BS) may determine assistance information for a neighboring cell and convey it to a user equipment (UE). A UE may receive assistance information for a neighboring cell and use that information for performing interference cancellation or suppression on received signals. The UE may receive the assistance information from a serving cell or a non-serving cell. The assistance information may be valid for a particular transmission instance, for a known period of time, or until updated by a BS.

Abstract: A wireless communications of a contention-based access procedure that reduces collision of reference signals (e.g., when multiple devices select a same reference signal) may support a relatively high user capacity. For a contention-based access procedure, a user equipment may select at least two reference signals and transmit those at least two reference signals in association with a payload to a base station. The payload may be demodulated using each of the at least two reference signals. Thus, if collision occurs with a first reference signal of the at least two reference signals, the payload may still be demodulated using a second reference signal of the at least two reference signals. A base station may demodulate the payload using either first reference signal or the second reference signal. The base station may transmit, to the wireless communications device, a response based on the demodulated payload.
