    Abstract: In narrowband communication, channels may use repetitions in multiple subframes. SPS and DRX for the narrowband communication may not accommodate such repetitions, because repetitions for a channel may fall only partially within a DRX ON duration. An apparatus addresses this problem by determining a DRX ON duration, determining a set of subframes carrying a narrowband PDCCH candidate and determining that the DRX ON duration at least partially overlaps with the set of subframes of the narrowband PDCCH. The apparatus then refrains from decoding the first narrowband PDCCH candidate, decodes the first narrowband PDCCH candidate, or extends the DRX ON duration to include the set of subframes entirely and decoding the first narrowband PDCCH candidate carried in the set of subframes in the extended DRX ON duration. The apparatus may also determine DRX configuration parameters based on parameters of bundled channels, and handle invalid subframes for an SPS grant.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for uplink transmission scheduling are disclosed. A wireless device may monitor at least two downlink sub-frames for scheduling grants. The wireless device may receive a first uplink scheduling grant in one of the at least two downlink sub-frames for at least a first uplink sub-frame and receive a second uplink scheduling grant in another of the at least two downlink sub-frames for at least the first uplink sub-frame. The wireless device may perform an uplink transmission in the first uplink sub-frame based on one or both of the first uplink scheduling grant and the second uplink scheduling grant. For the uplink transmission, the wireless device may select a most recent uplink scheduling grant or select an uplink scheduling grant received in a downlink sub-frame at least a minimum number of sub-frames before the first uplink sub-frame.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure implement techniques for power control management between the base station and the UE to support multiple waveforms and services. In one example, the power control management system may implement independent power control loops for each waveform and service (e.g., eMBB, uRLLC, etc.) supported by the wireless communication system. For example, the base station may transmit a first power control command to a UE for first waveform (e.g., CP-OFDM) or service (e.g., eMBB) and a second power control command to the UE for the second waveform (DFT-OFDM) or service (e.g., uRLLC). Features of the present disclosure may also implement techniques that allow the base station to transmit a single power control command for configuring the power control for a plurality of waveforms or services. Upon receiving the power control commands, the UE may configure the transmission power for uplink traffic based on the power control commands.

    Abstract: Split synchronization signal configuration for unified synchronization channels and techniques for indicating communication block boundaries in wireless communication systems that use a unified synchronization signal configuration that may be used in different communication modes are described. The disclosed split synchronization signal configuration allows the same synchronization signal configuration to be used in different communication modes (or numerologies) that operate on different frequencies. The boundary indication techniques of embodiments allow efficient indication of the beginning of a communication block (such as a frame, subframe, or slot) relative to the beginning of a unified synchronization signal configuration.

    Abstract: A narrowband apparatus determines a set of monitored resource blocks (RBs) on a subframe for monitoring for CRS from a base station monitors for the CRS from the base station on the subframe based on the set of monitored RBs. The base station determines a bandwidth for transmitting the CRS to a user equipment, wherein the bandwidth is less than a system bandwidth and transmits the CRS to the UE using the determined bandwidth, wherein the UE monitors for the CRS on a set of monitored RBs. The set of monitored RBs may include RBs allocated for a PDCCH search space, PDCCH and/or PDSCH transmissions and may further include RBs M subframes after and/or N subframes before the monitored RBs. The set of monitored RBs may include X RBs around a PDCCH search space and/or PDSCH.
