Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform a method for supporting a periodical radio access network (RAN) notification area (RNA) mechanism when small data transmission (SDT) is enabled for a user equipment device (UE). The method may include the UE receiving, from a base station, an indication enabling an SDT procedure along with an indication of an RNA timer configuration, transitioning, to a radio resource control (RRC) inactive state, and initiating an RNA timer based on the RNA timer configuration. The UE may, upon initiation of the SDT procedure, stop the RNA timer and, upon termination of the SDT procedure, start the RNA timer. During the SDT procedure, the UE may receive any of an SDT termination indication, an SDT subsequent transmission indication, or an SDT subsequent transmission termination indication that may include an updated RNA timer configuration (and/or RNA timer reconfiguration).

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to perform methods to implement mechanisms for non-stand-alone unlicensed band cells that support single carrier capable UEs. A UE may camp on a licensed band cell of a RAN and transmit a request to connect. The UE may receive, from the licensed band cell, a connection setup message indicating a switch to an unlicensed band cell of the RAN and receive, from the unlicensed band cell, a reference signal. The UE may transmit to the unlicensed band cell and in response to confirming, based at least in part of the reference signal, radio quality and/or downlink timing of the unlicensed band cell, a connection complete/connection resume message.

Abstract: Peer devices may wirelessly communicate with each other over a bidirectional sidelink logical channel (LCH) through an established bidirectional sidelink radio bearer. An initiating device of the peer devices may dynamically select a logical channel ID for establishing a fully bidirectional or semi-bidirectional SLRB. At least two alternative sidelink radio resource control (PC5-RRC) procedures may ensure the SLRB parameters are configured correctly in the established logical channel. The procedures also allow the network to configure a limited SLRB which is used to couple the SLRB configuration in the direction in which limited traffic (e.g. feedback information such as robust header compression feedback and/or status reports) is transmitted.

The UE implements intelligent transmission modification and cell measurement adjustments to mitigate overheating and reduce battery drain.

A wireless device may be configured to initiate an application during an ongoing procedure serviced by a first operating according to a first radio access technology (RAT), receive, from a first cellular system, an indication to switch to a second cellular system operating according to a second RAT, and delay the switch to the second cellular system until completion of the ongoing procedure. A network function may be configured to detect initiation of an application during an ongoing procedure serviced by a cellular system operating according to a first RAT, the application having associated application preferences, determine that the associated application preferences indicate a switch to a second cellular system operating according to a second RAT, and delay the switch to the second cellular system until completion of the ongoing procedure.
