Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A configuration for a reference signal used to determine a non-linear behavior of transmission components at a transmitting device may be determined. The configuration for the reference signal may be determined based on signaling transmitted by the transmitting device, signaling transmitted by a device that receives the reference signal, or both. Additionally, or alternatively, the configuration for the reference signal may be determined based on a configuration of other signals transmitted by the transmitting device prior to or concurrently with the transmission of the reference signal. The determined configuration may be used to generate and transmit the reference signal or to determine a configuration of a received reference signal. In both cases, a non-linear response of transmission components at the transmitting device may be determined based on the reference signal.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to radio access networks with a capability to dynamically reconfigure a number of transmission-reception points (TRPs) in a single-frequency network (SFN) based on channel measurements. In one example, a mobile device receives a configuration message including a plurality of transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states, and potentially further including an indication identifying one or more of the TCI states as main TCI states. The message may further include an indication that it includes the plurality of TCI states. The UE receives a downlink traffic channel and demodulates the traffic channel based on only a subset of the TCI states (e.g., the main TCI state (s)). The UE further measures one or more channel parameters corresponding to each TCI state of the plurality of TCI states, and transmits a channel state information report based on the channel parameters. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for identifying, from a resource pool allocated for sidelink communications between UEs, a first number of resources for transmissions from the first UE to a second UE based on a set of one or more parameters shared between the first UE and the second UE and identifying, from the resource pool, a second number of resources for transmissions from the second UE to the first UE based on the shared set of one or more parameters. The first UE may communicate with the second UE using the first and the second number of resources and avoid using the remaining available resources for power saving. For example, the first UE and the second UE may avoid sidelink communications on time slots on which no subchannels belong to either the first subset or second number of the resources.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station using a bandwidth part (BWP) configuration in a component carrier (CC). The UE may transmit an indication of a capability of the UE to operate in a full duplex (e.g., frequency division duplex (FDD)) mode on a single carrier in an unpaired frequency spectrum based on a first BWP configuration. The UE may receive an indication of a second BWP configuration for one or more slots based on transmitting the indication of the capability of the UE, the second BWP configuration including a configuration associated with an uplink BWP and a downlink BWP. The UE and the base station may then communicate according to the second BWP configuration in the one or more slots of the set of slots based on receiving the indication of the second BWP configuration.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Base stations may reduce energy consumption by minimizing the use of periodic signals such as the system information block one (SIB1), which a user equipment (UE) may use to perform a random access channel (RACH) procedure with a base station. A UE may transmit a wake-up signal to the base station requesting an SIB1. The base station may transmit a synchronization signal block (SSB) that indicates that the base station is not transmitting an SIB1, and the UE may transmit the cell wake-up signal in response. A base station may refrain from periodically transmitting SSBs. A UE may determine that it is within range of a base station and that it has not received an SSB. The UE may transmit a wake-up signal to the base station, and the base station may transmit an SSB and an SIB1 to the UE.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for replacing and/or fixing broken uplink repetitions due to segmentation of nominal repetitions into actual repetitions. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes detecting that a configured repetition pattern for uplink transmission to a network entity results in segmentation of at least one nominal repetition into multiple actual repetitions, modifying the configured repetition pattern, based at least in part on the detection, to avoid segmentation of nominal repetitions into multiple actual repetitions, and sending the uplink transmission to the network entity in accordance with the modified repetition pattern.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support reduced bandwidth devices and particularly, allocation of more than three orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols in the time domain to a control resource set (CORESET). In a first aspect, a method for wireless communication includes receiving, from a base station at a user equipment (UE), a first message that indicates a CORESET configuration. The CORESET configuration allocates more than three OFDM symbols in the time domain to a CORESET. The method further includes monitoring a set of time and frequency resources to receive a second message from the base station at the UE. The set of time and frequency resources have the CORESET configuration. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a reduced capability user equipment (UE) may receive signaling indicating a set of repetition levels for receiving control information from a base station and a blind detection threshold for decoding the control information. Upon receiving the signaling, the reduced capability UE may monitor a control channel candidate for the control information based on the set of repetition levels. Once the reduced capability UE detects the control information from the monitoring, the reduced capability UE may perform at least one blind detection on the control channel candidate based on the set of repetition levels and the blind detection threshold and receive the control information from the base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a user equipment (UE) may identify an angle parameter for encoding uplink messages using a fractional Fourier Transform (FrFFT). A base station may transmit a set of angle parameters or a single angle parameter that the UE is to use for encoding an uplink message. The UE may select an alpha value from the set of alpha values for the encoding. The UE may transmit an indication of a set of proposed angle parameters to the base station, and the base station may determine and indicate one of or a subset of the received set of proposed angle parameters to the UE. The base station may indicate a correspondence between angle parameters and beam configurations, and the UE may identify an alpha parameter value based on a subsequently indicated beam configuration.
