    摘要: Provided is a method for manufacturing a bearing ring member, whereby processing cost can be reduced and a high degree of freedom in design is obtained, by disposing a metal material of a raw material (13a), the metal material having excellent metal characteristics such as fatigue strength and wear resistance and excellent processing characteristics such as hardenability, in a portion that flows to a portion (raceway surface, etc.) where the characteristics of the metal material are required during use or forging of a bearing ring member. The present invention is configured from a first metal part (23) in which the raw material (13a) is formed in a cylindrical shape, and a second metal part (24) formed in a columnar shape by a metal material having more excellent metal characteristics or processing characteristics than the first metal part (23). For example, the second metal part (24) is disposed in a portion on an inside diameter side of the first metal part (23), which is a portion of the raw material (13a) that flows to an outer raceway (5a, 5b) of an outer ring (2) during forging.

    摘要: An inner ring 3 is fit to a stepped part 8 formed on the inner end of a hub 2b. A desired pre-load is applied to rolling elements 5 in a state that an outer end face 28 of the inner ring 3 is butted against a step surface 12 formed on the hub 2b. The inner ring 3 is fit to the hub 2b by interference fitting causing a static friction force, which is larger than a thrust load acting on the inner ring 3 based on the pre-loading. Therefore, the inner end face of the inner ring 3 is clamped with a caulking portion, which is formed by expanding outward in the diameter directions a cylindrical portion 18 formed in the inner end of the hub 2b.

    摘要: A crude work having a cylindrical boss formed integrally with a base plate is processed to a final product by a press work without using additional machining. An inner diameter of the boss is enlarged by a punch, and at the same time an outer diameter of the boss is shrunk by an outer die, while the work is supported on a cushion ring to which a force against the movement of the punch and the outer die is applied. Some of the material constituting the cylindrical boss is squeezed, and a bulge is formed at a foot of the cylindrical boss out of the material squeezed. Since the bulge is fromed in a confined space in the die structure, no crack or defect develops in or on the bulge. The bulge is further compressed by a press work to form a flat flange out of the bulge. The cylindrical boss having the flange formed integrally therewith is used as a center boss for holding a bearing of a rotary machine.

    摘要: A vehicle hub assembly and method of manufacturing the assembly which eliminates ball and needle bearings and many other parts, thereby simplifying manufacturing and increasing durability. The assembly comprises a molded hub having a central opening for receiving an axle therethrough on which the hub rotates. Like flanges are provided on each end of the hub and the flanges have openings for receiving spokes. In one embodiment, molded bushings are provided in each end of the hub and include abutment portions for bearing against the flanges. The center of the flanges and the ends of the hub are configured in each embodiment so as to allow the flanges and hub ends to readily mate together and align in a predetermined angular offset with respect to one another. This arrangement ensures that like flanges can be used on each end of the hub but be angularly offset in a simple and predetermined manner.
