Abstract: A household appliance (10) is disclosed which comprises a liquid tank (12), wherein the tank is adapted for translational movement between a use position in which the tank is positioned within a housing (15) of the household appliance and a servicing position in which the tank is at least partially extracted from the housing, the household appliance further comprises biasing means (30) for biasing the tank towards the servicing position, and releasable latch means (36; 38; 58) for selectively arresting the tank in the use position or releasing the tank for movement towards the servicing position. In accordance with the invention: the household appliance (10) further comprises a carriage (24) associated to the tank (12) and configured for translational movement along guide means (28) provided in the housing (15); the biasing means (30) comprises a spring element configured to be loaded when the tank (12) is moved from the servicing position towards the use position; and the latch means comprises:20—a catch (36) provided at the carriage, —a locking member (38; 58) located at the housing (15) which in the use position of the tank (12) engages the catch (36) to arrest the tank in the use position, and —release means (40; 62) for disengaging the locking member25 from the catch (36).

Abstract: In accordance with at least one aspect of this disclosure, a food steaming system includes an enclosed interior space defined by a first wall and a cooking volume within the interior space defined by a second wall radially inboard of the first wall forming an annulus between the first wall and the second wall. A steam generator is disposed proximate the cooking volume configured to inject a steam flow into the annulus prior to the steam flow entering the cooking volume. An air mover is operatively connected to move the steam flow upwards through the annulus from a lower portion of the interior space to an upper portion of the interior space, the air mover positioned downstream from the steam generator.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a cooking system for cooking food, the system including a housing defining a hollow chamber configured to receive a food container. The housing has an upper portion defining an opening to the hollow chamber. A food container having a hollow container interior is positionable within the hollow chamber. An end of the food container extends above the upper portion of the housing when the container is installed within the hollow chamber. A lid is moveably attached to the housing and is moveable between a first position that covers the upper portion of the housing and the opening to the hollow chamber when the food container is installed within the hollow chamber and a second position where the lid does not cover the opening to the hollow chamber. At least one heating element is associated with at least one of said lid and said housing.

Abstract: A steam cooking device which includes a pressure accumulating steam boiler and a steaming cabinet is disclosed. The pressure accumulating steam boiler heats liquid water and accumulates a steam having a pressure between 1.1 and 5.0 times atmospheric pressure. The steaming cabinet receives the steam from the pressure accumulating steam boiler to cook a foodstuff contained therein. To raise the temperature of a foodstuff accommodating chamber within the steaming cabinet from a room temperature to a cooking temperature, a WH1 amount of energy is consumed by an electricity-heat conversion unit in the pressure accumulating steam boiler. A foodstuff accommodating chamber within the steaming cabinet has a volume of V1. The steam cooking device satisfies V1/WH1>160. The cooking temperature is between 101° C. and 150° C. and is lower than or equal to the temperature of the steam when the steam is outputted from the pressure accumulating steam boiler.

Abstract: A method includes inserting a food item into an inner volume of a thermal container. A liquid circulating through a liquid jacket at least partially surrounding and fluidically isolated from the inner volume of the thermal container is cooled such that thermal energy from the food item is transferred to the cooled liquid. After the cooling, thermal energy from a first heating element is transferred to the liquid circulating through the liquid jacket such that thermal energy from the heated liquid is transferred to the food item. Thermal energy from a second heating element is transferred to the food item in response to a criterion being satisfied. The second heating element is different from the first heating element and is disposed in the inner volume of the thermal container.

Abstract: A cooking device, in particular a steam oven, includes a cooking cavity and a heating unit. The heating unit has a first and a second heating element capable to operate at different temperatures, and at least one fan. The cooking device is configured in such a manner that the fan collects air from the cooking cavity and conveys a first airflow towards the first heating element and a second airflow towards the second heating element. The first airflow passing the first heating element creates a first airflow circuit in the cooking cavity, and the second airflow passing the second heating element creates a second airflow circuit in the cooking cavity. The two airflows can have different temperatures by individually controlling the power of the two heating element.
