The optical modular device is comprised of a substrate, a mount installed on the substrate, first and second light sources installed on opposing sides of the mount, a photo-detector installed on the mount for receiving a light beam which is reflected from a recording medium, a housing having an opening in the upper portion thereof and incorporated on the upper surface of the substrate, an optical path changing unit installed at the opening of the housing for changing the path of an incident light beam.

The aperture-limiting element can be constructed with a reduced number of components as compared with the prior art construction.

The double-layered disk can be played back using a disk judging unit that detects the disk's table of contents and controls a laser beam focus of a pick up, an operating clock frequency, and the decoder for reading out the data recorded in pits formed on the disk.

    摘要: An optical disk player for simultaneously reading data recorded on different areas of the optical disk is disclosed. The optical disk player provides a plurality of pairs of optical pick-ups and pick-up positioning mechanisms. A rotational speed of the optical disk is controlled according to a synchronization signal obtained from a first pick-up and the first pick-up can read the recorded data by a normal method, however, other pick-ups need to change read rates according to respective linear velocity. Therefore, reading speed changing circuits are provided for each of the optical pick-ups except a first pick-up and they change read rates according to linear velocities of the optical disk at reading positions.

In the step (a), a continuous film layer composed of a multilayer film is formed, and CoB layers and Pd layers are laminated in the multilayer film. In the step (b), the CoB layers and the Pd layers are melted by the ion beam so as to form an alloy of metals contained in the CoB layers and the Pd layers to thereby form the separation regions.
