摘要: The invention relates to a device for removably securing a tool (12) to the spindle (10) of a machine tool with a fitting aperture (16) concentric with the spindle axis, a fitting pin (18) engaging in the fitting aperture (16), two clamping bolts (26) arranged in the fitting pin so as to be radially movable towards opposite sides, a clamping member (32) movable axially by means of a tensioning mechanism fitted on the spindle side and two tapered surfaces (48, 30) fitted on the clamping member (32) on the one hand and on the clamping bolts on the other for the radial adjustment of the clamping bolts (26) between a release position withdrawn in the fitting pin (18) and a clamping position shifted radially outwards. In order to be able to clamp large tools securely, even with a relatively short axial clamping travel of the central securing and clamping mechanism on the spindle side, the clamping member (32) and the clamping bolts (26) each have a transverse groove therein (50, 52) limited by transverse sides in the region of their facing tapered surfaces (48, 30) by means of which the tapered surfaces are divided into two partial surfaces arranged at a distance from each other. In the release position, one of the partial surfaces (48", 30') is received in the opposite transverse groove (50, 52) in the manner of a toothed gear, while in the clamping position both partial surfaces (30', 48', 30", 48") lie mutually opposite each other.

摘要: A method of achieving interchangeability of tool inserts in a quick release chuck mechanism mounted on a drive spindle, the chuck mechanism having a body member with an axial bore extending therethrough, and an end surface transverse to the bore, the tool inert having an end portion insertable in the axial bore, an axial opening in the insert for receiving the tool, and an adjusting screw in the axial opening for adjusting the tool relative to the insert, the tool insert further having an opposite end portion provided with a shoulder facing the end surface and engageable therewith; adjusting means on the end surface of the body member for axial movement for axially varying the position of the end surface relative to the shoulder for achieving a predetermined end surface position; and means for releasably holding the tool insert in the body member with the shoulder in engagement with the end surface adjusting means; the method comprising the steps of adjusting the adjusting means on the end surface of the body member mounted on a complementary spindle to achieve a constant predetermined end surface position of the body member relative to a predetermined reference plane; adjusting the adjusting the screws on a plurality of tool inserts to obtain sharpened tool inserts of identical length from the tip of each tool to each shoulder; and mounting a sharpened tool insert on the body member so that the tip of the tool is a fixed distance from said reference plane, such tool insert adapted, when the tool is dull, to be quickly released by the holding means and replaced by a sharpened tool insert without the necessity of further adjustment of the adjusting means or adjusting screw to maintain said fixed distance between said reference plane and the tip of the tool.

摘要: A drill chuck can be operated with or without an axial displacement mode with respect to the drill spindle. For operation without the axial displacement mode, lock formations can be moved by way of a coupling ring to engage with a seat portion of a contact sleeve which is fixed to the drill spindle. The lock formations are part of resilient lock strips which are cut from the wall of a lock sleeve secured at the chuck body. The lock formations can be contacted by control projections of the coupling ring. The coupling ring can be moved in axial direction towards the drill spindle so that the contact sleeve is secured due to engagement of the lock formations at the seat portion. At the same time, the chuck body contacts at a spring ring secured to the contact sleeve, and the relative axial movements between the chuck body and the contact sleeve or the drill spindle cannot take place.

摘要: The percussion drill apparatus is comprised of a drill spindle which powers the chuck, and the connection for rotation of the drill chuck to the drill spindle is by way of at least one coupling element which is secured in retainers respectively provided in the drill spindle and the chuck body, but allowing the operating mode with axial shifting or displacement, which mode can be terminated, or selected, by a locking mechanism having a coupling ring. The locking mechanism includes a lock element which is guided in the chuck body and which can project into a longitudinal groove extending axially in the drill spindle. The lock element can be actuated by a control sleeve which surrounds the chuck body and which can be rotated with respect thereto, to be moved, for precluding the axial displacement, into a retainer depression or pocket at the respective upper terminus of the longitudinal groove. The control sleeve includes a radially outwardly directed formation which allows exit of the lock element from the depression, and it is taken along when considered in the direction of rotation by the coupling ring. At its rim which is directed towards the control ring, the coupling ring has teeth which can engage in matching teeth of the control ring.

摘要: A hammer drill chuck according to the invention has a chuck body centered on an axis and formed with an axially forwardly open hole normally receiving a drill bit, respective jaws displaceable in the body and having front ends radially engageable with a bit in the hole, and an adjustment ring engaged around the body, fitting with the jaws such that rotation of the ring in one direction advances the jaws in the body and rotation in the opposite direction retracts the jaws for respectively clamping and unclamping the drill bit in the front portion, and formed with axially backwardly directed teeth. A locking sleeve axially displaceable on the body is formed with forwardly directed teeth engageable with the teeth of the ring for rotational coupling of the sleeve and the ring, an axially relatively short, radially inwardly open, and axially forwardly open slot, and an axially relatively long, radially inwardly open, and axially forwardly open slot adjacent the short slot and of a predetermined angular width. A radially outwardly projecting stop fixed on the chuck body is of a predetermined angular width substantially less than that of the long slot. This stop is engageable in either of the slots. A spring is engaged between the sleeve and the chuck body for urging the sleeve axially forward on the chuck body and for urging the sleeve angularly in the one direction.

摘要: A chuck has a chuck body having an outer surface and formed with a forwardly open hole defining an axis and normally receiving a drill bit, a plurality of angularly generally equispaced guide bores extending at an acute angle to the axis and having inner front ends opening in the hole and outer rear ends opening on the outer surface, and respective chip-shedding passages opening radially inward into the guide bores and radially outward on the outer surface. Respective jaws displaceable in the guide bores have front ends engageable with a bit in the hole and radially outwardly directed teeth. An adjustment ring engaged around the body fits with the teeth of the jaws so that rotation of the ring in one direction advances the jaws in the body and rotation in the opposite direction retracts the jaws for respectively clamping and unclamping the drill bit in the hole.
