This chuck comprises a main body comprising a taper shank for fixing the chuck to the machine tool and a tool support for clamping the rotary tool, a fastening ring for regulating fastening force by the tool support, a needle roller bearing interposed between the fastening ring and the tool support under an inclined state, and a gear mechanism for rotating the fastening ring. This gear mechanism comprises, for example, a worm wheel formed integrally with the fastening ring and a worm engaging with the worm wheel. When this structure is employed, the rotary tool can be fitted to and removed from the chuck without fixing a spindle of the machine tool, and the fastening ring can be turned without a great force.

    摘要: A reversible drill and drive tool holder for use in performing a series of similar drill and drive operations. The tool holder consists of three major parts: a hollow cylindrical locking sleeve; an elongated shaft lying partially within the sleeve and having one end adapted to be held in the chuck of an electric drill and the other end forked; and a tool holding member rotatably pinned into the forked end of the shaft. The tool holding member has a socket at each end for holding a drill bit at one end and a driving tool at the other end. The shaft is held within the cylindrical sleeve by a spring-loaded pin and is capable of axial movement within the sleeve. When the shaft is moved forward against the spring, the tool holding member is freed to rotate about the pin in the front fork of the shaft, thus permitting either a drill bit or a driving tool to be moved into operating position. When either tool is in operating position, the opposite end of the tool holding member will retract under the force of the spring into the end of the sleeve and be held by the forward edge of the sleeve.

    摘要: A drill chuck normally has a chuck body rotatable about a chuck axis and provided at its front side with a plurality of axially forwardly projecting and radially displaceable jaws. A tightening ring rotatable on the body about the axis thereof is connected via appropriate screwthread formations to the jaws so that when this ring is rotated on the chuck body about the axis in a tightening direction the jaws are displaced radially toward each other and when rotated in an opposite loosening direction the jaws are displaced apart. In addition the chuck body is formed with a radially outwardly open groove having a rear surface and with a radially outwardly open recess spaced axially forwardly of the groove and having an inner surface extending generally perpendicularly of the chuck axis and having a front portion spaced axially from and confronting the rear surface. This groove receives a tightening ring which has rear and front edge surfaces respectively riding on the front and rear surfaces of the groove, so that the front edge surface is spaced axially from and confronts the portion of the inner surface. A locking element is rotatable in this recess about a locking axis transverse to the chuck axis between a locking position wedged tightly between the front edge surface and the portion and an angularly offset unlocked position out of engagement with the front edge surface. Thus the locking element can be rotated into the locking position to block rotation of the tightening ring on the chuck body.

    摘要: A chuck assembly and collet for retaining an end mill tool against axial pullout. The collet includes a radially compressible body having a tapered outer surface, a central bore and a radial aperture extending from the outer surface into the central bore. The radial aperture, which includes larger and smaller diameter portions, has a movable pin mounted therein and adapted to extend into the bore to retain the tool. The pin has an undercut portion, with a spring or snap ring mounted around the pin in the undercut portion, said spring having a free diameter slightly larger than the larger diameter to provide a pressure fit when mounted therein. The undercut has a length which is larger than the thickness of the snap ring to allow a limited radial movement of the pin to lock and to release the tool, whereby the pin is urged inwardly into the bore and engages a rear bevel end on a flat surface on the tool to secure the tool within the collet as the collet is tightened within the chuck assembly and whereby the pin can move outwardly to release the tool when the collet is removed from the chuck assembly.

    摘要: The invention is directed to a chuck for grasping a tool such as a drill bit or the like and adapted to be tightened with the aid of a chuck key. The chuck includes a hollow body defining a longitudinal axis and having a front end for receiving the tool therein. A plurality of elongated jaws are movably mounted in the hollow body. A sleeve is rotatably mounted on the body and threadably engages the jaws to move the jaws in the body to clamp and release the tool whereby substantial radial forces are transmitted to the body by the jaws when the jaws are tightened on the tool. The sleeve extends in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the hollow body to surround the hollow body at the region of the jaws for supporting the body against the radial forces. A gear is provided for coacting with the chuck key to actuate the sleeve to move the jaws for tightening the jaws on the tool.
