    摘要: Difficulties in brazing or welding a fitting that may be utilized in a heat exchange system are avoided in a construction that includes a mounting block (100) including a formation (102) by which the block (100) may be mounted on another object such as a support (10). At least one aperture (108, 110) extends through the block (100) at a sleeve (112, 114), having opposed ends (122, 128; 158, 160) and an exterior surface (131, 155) sized to snuggly and slidably pass at least partially through the aperture (108, 110) and an interior surface (126, 150) defining a fluid passage. A pair of axially spaced grooves (140, 142; 152, 154) are in the exterior surface (131, 155) and are spaced a distance about equal to the thickness of the block (100) at the apertures (108, 110). A retaining ring (176, 178) may be located in one of the grooves (140, 152) and a retaining clip (170) is removably received in the other groove (142, 154) remote therefrom. As a consequence, the sleeve (112, 114) may be joined to tubing (34, 38) in a heat exchange system without subjecting the mounting block (100) to the bonding procedure.

    摘要: A device for exchanging simple tools that do not need utility service is adapted to facilitate coupling one such tool to, and uncoupling it from, a movable robotic arm. The device comprises an attaching member attachable to the tool, a supporting member connected to the arm and having an open slot therein and a recessed upper surface adjacent to the slot, and a retaining member movably mounted to the arm above the supporting member and spring-biased toward the supporting member slot and upper surface. The attaching member, attached to the tool, is received by the open slot, supported by the recessed upper surface, and yieldably retained there by the spring-biased retaining member during use. The attaching member is then withdrawn from the slot, upper surface, and retaining member, and returned to a storage rack located nearby.

    摘要: Wheel cradles for a wheel lift towing system are quickly and easily coupled to or uncoupled from opposing ends of a cross arm assembly associated with a towing vehicle. The cradles are coupled to the cross arm by sliding the cradles laterally inward in a substantially horizontal plane from outside the ends of the cross arm. Such lateral insertion facilitates coupling of the wheel cradles to the cross arm in situations of difficult access to the towed vehicles wheels. The cradles are decoupled from the cross arm by sliding the cradles laterally outward in a substantially horizontal plane following concurrent rotation of a pivotable latching member and depressible plunger release mechanism. Such concurrent actuation prevents premature decoupling of the wheel cradles during operation of the towing vehicle.

    摘要: A connector which can releasably couple two confronting or divergent flanges of a profiled structural member with a hollow second member has a housing which is insertable into the second member and contains two retaining arms with hook-shaped jaws projecting from the open front end of the housing. The arms are movable toward or away from each other into and from positions of overlap with the flanges before they are retracted to engage the jaws with the respective flanges. The jaws are movable to positions of overlap with the flanges by one or more displacing members and to retracted positions by one or more motion transmitting members. The displacing members and the motion transmitting members receive motion from one or more eccentrics or disc cams of an actuator which is rotatably mounted in the second member on a shaft which can be disengaged from the second member to allow for extraction of the entire connector from the second member. The shaft is movable axially relative to the actuator and has a polygonal coupling portion which transmits torque to the actuator, and one or more cylindrical portions which are rotatably journalled in a housing of the connector and/or in the second member.
