摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image reading portion; an image forming portion; a first casing; a second casing including a space which continuously opens to two directions perpendicular to not only the vertical direction but also each other and including a mounting portion where the first casing is mountable at a position where the space does not continuously open to the two directions; one or more supporting portion; and one or more auxiliary supporting portion. A gap is formed between itself and the other one of the first casing and the mounting portion in a state in which no load is externally exerted on the first casing, and wherein the auxiliary supporting portion contacts the other one when a load not less than a predetermined load is externally exerted on an upper portion of the first casing downward at a position deviated from the mounting portion.

摘要： A scanner option assembly for an image forming device. The scanner option assembly comprises a housing removably attachable to a bottom of the image forming device, and a scanner assembly mounted in the housing and being positionable to receive an original for scanning. When the housing is attached to the bottom of the image forming device, the scanner assembly receives power from the image forming device with the scanner assembly being in operable communication with a controller of the image forming device for receiving instructions from and providing scan data of an image of the original to the controller. The scanner assembly includes at least one of a flatbed scanner slidably extendible and retractable through an opening of the housing, and an automatic document feeder (ADF) assembly for automatically feeding one or more media sheets into an image capture area of the scanner assembly.

The image forming unit includes a body casing, a developing unit having a developing roller extending in a lateral direction, a developer cartridge provided on one side of the axis of the developing roller and detachably attached to the body casing, a discharge tray, a side cover, a support unit for supporting the developer cartridge such that the developer cartridge is detachably attached to a front side of the body casing, a sheet feeding tray detachably attachable to the front side of the body casing, and a discharge unit provided on the front side of the body casing and discharging sheet on which an image is formed to the rear side of the body casing. The scanner unit is provided above the image forming unit having a predetermined space opened on the one side therebetween.

In the guide unit is formed a concave portion for removably accommodating the backup unit, and the backup unit is configured so that an original document guide face of the guide member and an original document guide face in the backup unit form a continuous guide face when the guide unit travels to the close position.Then, the guide unit is moved to the open position to perform cleaning of the backup unit and contact glass. Further, the backup unit is removed to perform maintenance.

摘要： A data processing apparatus including a drawable hopper table with a hopper and an image reading head. Sheets are conveyed from the hopper to a stacker arranged below the hopper table, and the stacker includes a pusher for discharging sheets. The hopper table and the pusher are moved by a common motor and a gear mechanism. The gear mechanism includes a partially toothed gear, so as to drive one of the hopper table and the pusher. A cam mechanism is incorporated with the gear mechanism to prohibit the movement of the not driven one. Also, a top cover is pivotally attached to the hopper table about a pivot arranged on one side of the top cover remote from the hopper, the image reading head is pivotally attached to the top cover about a fulcrum arranged on one side of the top cover near the hopper.

摘要： A multifunction printer having scanning and printing functions includes: a first cover located at one side surface of the deice body of the printer; a second cover located in the device body, inside of the first cover; a first paper transfer path connected to an image reading unit having the scanning function, the first paper transfer path being defined between the first and second covers; a second paper transfer path connected to a printing unit, the second paper transfer path defined in the device body inside of the second cover; and diverging means for selectively diverging the paper into one of the first and second paper transfer paths. Whereby, if jamming occurs in the first paper transfer path, jamming paper can be easily removed by opening the first cover, whereas if jamming occurs in the second paper transfer path, jamming paper can be easily removed by opening the second cover after opening the first cover.
