    摘要: Disclosed herein is a method for detecting copper(II) in a liquid sample. The method generally comprises contacting a liquid sample, such as water, with a chromogen, such as TMB, in the presence of a suitable halide, such as chloride or bromide, and an oxidizer, such as hydrogen peroxide; and detecting a color change of the chromogen. A color change signifies the presence of copper in the sample. Compositions and kits are also provided. The presence of said suitable halide was found to amplify the detection signal.

    摘要: A lithium reagent composition for determining lithium concentration, with which it is possible to instantaneously determine the amount of lithium contained in an aqueous solution, such as a biosample or an environmental sample, by means of a simple colorimeter or ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer and which renders a visual assessement possible; and a method and device for quantifying lithium ions using the composition. A lithium reagent composition obtained by mixing the compound represented by the structural formula, wherein all of the hydrogen atoms bonded to carbon atoms of tetraphenylporphyrin have been replaced with fluorine atoms, as a chelating agent with a basic organic compound selected from monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, and triethanolamine and producing an aqueous solution thereof that further contains a pH regulator with which the pH has been regulated to 5 or higher; and a method and device for quantifying lithium ions using the composition.

    摘要: A method for testing for the presence of a trivalent chromium conversion coating on a metal substrate is provided. According to one embodiment, the method comprises contacting a surface of the metal substrate with at least one solvent to generate a test solution, adding an indicator capable of detecting zirconium to the test solution in an amount sufficient to induce a color change of the test solution if zirconium is present in the test solution, and determining whether a color change indicating the presence of the conversion coating occurs in the test solution.

Apparatus includes an enclosure; a support; a dispenser oriented toward the substrate support; a source of UV-responsive indicator solution active for Pd, Ni, or Cu ions fluidly coupled to the dispenser; a UV source coupled to the enclosure; and a radiation sensor positioned to detect light inside the enclosure.
