    摘要: A rotary chuck includes a housing for rotation about an axis, keyways in the housing which extend radially away from the axis, jaw assemblies slidably received in the keyways and an actuating mechanism as well as a speed ring for moving the jaw assemblies along the keyways in accordance with different gear ratios. Each jaw assembly includes an inner jaw keyed to the associated keyway adjacent to the bottom thereof and an outer jaw keyed to the associated keyway near a mouth thereof so that the jaws can slide independently along their respective keyways. Each jaw assembly also has a locking device for locking its jaws together when they are opposite one another to prevent their relative radial movement and means enabling release of the locking device from the outside to permit ready removal of the outer jaw from its keyway.

    摘要: The invention concerns a centring device for centring a chuck on a securing portion in particular of a rotating spindle of a machine, wherein a tapered portion corresponding to a mating tapered portion on the chuck side is provided on the securing portion in such a way that the tapered portion and/or the mating tapered portion is/are formed so as to yield elastically in the axial direction such that, after the tapered portion comes into contact with the mating tapered portion, the chuck can be moved further in the axial direction, at least to a limited extent, as a result of an axial pulling-in force until the chuck comes to lie against a stop on the securing portion side. The invention likewise concerns an associated locking device.

    摘要: A die head retaining mechanism for installing or removing a die head in a power drive for thread cutting operations is described. The mechanism comprises a cam and follower arrangement with a face gear having at least one locking jaw disposed in a slot provided on the face of the face gear oriented away from the housing. The mechanism also comprises a drive ring having a collection of cam profiles to control the movement of the locking jaws. The mechanism also comprises at least one compression spring disposed in corresponding groove(s) on the face gear. The compression spring is typically preloaded to keep the locking jaws in a locked position. The mechanism also comprises a bearing provided between the housing and the face gear. The bearing is locked in place by a retaining ring. A locking plate, spring washers, and screws are used to secure the assembly of the die head retaining mechanism on the power drive.

    摘要: A dual lock brake lathe chuck comprises of at least one primary drive gear with keyhole along with at least one secondary drive gear with keyhole. The keyhole is rotated through the side of the chuck whereas the secondary keyhole is rotated through the back of the chuck. Rotation of either the primary keyhole or the secondary keyhole extends a plurality of jaws to secure a brake rotor on a brake lathe. The secondary keyhole positioned on the back of the chuck allows easier access of the keyhole when a brake rotor is attached to the chuck allowing the user to ensure that the brake rotor is securely tightened onto the brake lathe chuck.
