摘要: Methods of forming proteinaceous products such as cell culture supplement capable of supporting the growth and culturing of cells, tissue, and organs, are generally disclosed. One method generally provides for the collection of the internal tissue of an animal, such as a bovine, and the processing of the internal tissue to degrade and/or lyse the tissue components. A cell culture supplement or other proteinaceous product can be prepared from the processed tissue. A proteinaceous product can include, for example, a complete protein profile of the tissue or only certain biological factors extracted from the tissue. Collected internal tissue can be lymphatic tissue such as the supramammary glands of a dairy or beef cow or the thymus gland of a veal calf.

摘要: The invention relates to immunology, in particular to methods for influencing the immune system, and may be useful in immunotherapy for diseases of humans and animals, including therapy for oncological, autoimmune, and viral diseases. The invention comprises exposure of tumor cells obtained ex vivo or pathological cells of a non-tumorous nature or of a fraction of a biological fluid of a mammal containing viruses or bacteria to radiation of the optical range in the presence or absence of photochemical agents or treatment of said cells, viruses, or bacteria by other physical factors or chemical substances known in the art. The cells of suspensions containing viruses or bacteria are administered into the lymphatic system of said mammal. Treated cells or suspensions obtained from an exogenous source and possessing their biologically activity before the treatment may also be administered endolymphatically. The method of the invention enhances the efficacy and usability of immunotherapy.

摘要: An isolated and purified cell line of hematopoeitic stem cells (HSC) that are incapable of expressing the CCR5 receptor on the cell surface (“the CCR5Δ32 cells” are used to regenerate the immune system in a subject in need thereof and especially to treat a subject infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The method is carried out by transplanting CCR5Δ32 into the recipient subject. Because mature immune cells derived from CCR5Δ32 cells cannot express functional CCR5 receptors, they will be resistant to infection by HIV and other pathogens that use the CCR5 receptor to infect cells. An embodiment of the invention includes administration of a nutritional regimen to the patient that optimizes conditions for CCR5Δ32 cell transplantation. Another embodiment of the invention includes co-transplanting mesenchymal cells along with the HSC in order to enhance the growth and development of the transplanted HSC.
