    摘要: This disclosure is directed to methods and systems for managing risk in a transaction with a user, which presents to the user, with sufficient detail for inspection, an image of the user blended with information about the transaction. A processor of a biometric device may blend an acquired image of a user of the device during a transaction with information about the transaction. The acquired image may comprise an image of the user suitable for manual or automatic recognition. The information may include a location determined via the device, an identifier of the device, and a timestamp for the image acquisition. The system may include a display, for presenting the blended image to the user. The presented image may show purposeful integration of the information about the transaction with the acquired image, to comprise a record of the transaction to be stored if the user agrees to proceed with the transaction.

    摘要: The present disclosure is directed towards a compact, mobile apparatus for iris image acquisition, adapted to address effects of ocular dominance in the subject and to guide positioning of the subject's iris for the image acquisition. The apparatus may include a sensor for acquiring an iris image from a subject. A compact mirror may be oriented relative to a dominant eye of the subject, and sized to present an image of a single iris to the subject when the apparatus is positioned at a suitable distance for image acquisition. The mirror may assist the subject in positioning the iris for iris image acquisition. The mirror may be positioned between the sensor and the iris during iris image acquisition, and transmit a portion of light reflected off the iris to the sensor.

    摘要: A method for confirming the identity of an individual while shielding that individual's personal data. At least one biometric such as the image of the iris of an individual is captured and stored in a database. A unique identification code is assigned to the biometric without reference to the first individual's personal information. A subsequent biometric data collect is compared with the contents of the database. If a match between the subsequent biometric is found with the original biometric, the system transmits the identification code corresponding to the matched biometric. In a second aspect of the invention, in order to protect the privacy of individuals, the unique identification code is encrypted such that only the individual to whom the biometric belongs holds the de-encryption key. In a third aspect of the invention also intended to protect the privacy of individuals, a non-unique group identification code is assigned to the biometric. Preferably, in the case where the biometric used is the iris, the system replaces enrollment and live iris images with iris templates and bases comparisons on these templates, rather than storing/comparing actual images. The system is adapted to assist in locating missing persons and in verifying transactions. If an individual is missing and a live iris template is matched to that person's stored template, the system automatically contacts another individual.

    摘要: The provenance of passengers intending to depart on a vehicle from a transportation facility, is ensured by providing biometric reading devices at both a check-in station and a departure area station of the facility. The name and/or other information concerning a passenger arriving at the facility is also entered for assessment into a background check system. A biometric template of the passenger is acquired by the reading device at the check-in station and forwarded to the departure area station. When the passenger appears at the latter station, a second biometric template is acquired by the reading device there. The second template is compared with each of a number of templates that were forwarded from the check-in station. If no match exists, or if the background check system returns an unsatisfactory assessment, the passenger is refused boarding onto the vehicle.
