Abstract:
In a method for playing a video generated on-demand, a video player sends a video request to a video service provider over a data network. The video player receives a video media file from the video service provider. The video media file includes a plurality of cue slots including a plurality of video clip files. The video player obtains the plurality of video clip files from the plurality of cue slots and plays the plurality of video clip files. Each video clip file may include video data and a description, and the description may include location information and/or licensing information. A given video clip file(s) may include instructions for an animation and/or instructions for displaying video clip file(s) in an overlaid manner. Each of the cue slots may include comprises a start time, where the video clip files are played according to the start times.
Abstract:
Provided is a method and system for displaying video streams, including receiving video data from a plurality of video stream by a frame controller in communication with a television display including a first picture and a second picture, and also receiving a television program summary list. The television program summary list includes television program data corresponding to the received video streams, and displaying the television program summary list in the second picture, and allowing the selection of a program from the television program summary list by a consumer, and displaying the selected video stream in the first picture.
Abstract:
In electronic document storage control, a document controller receives a document storage request to store an electronic document from an access device. The document controller retrieves the electronic document and a storage location attribute associated with the electronic document. The document controller obtains a current location of the document controller, and compares the current location of the document controller and the storage location attribute associated with the electronic document. In response to a match between the current location and the storage location attribute, the document controller stores the electronic document at the document controller. In response to no match between the current location and the storage location attribute, the document controller does not stores the electronic document.
Abstract:
In electronic document access control, a document controller receives a document access request from an access device. The request is to access an electronic document previously stored in a datastore coupled to the document controller. The request includes a current location of the access device, and the electronic document is associated with an access location attribute. The document controller compares the current location of the access device with the access location attribute associated with the electronic document. In response to a match between the current location and the access location attribute, the document controller sends the electronic document to the access device. In response to no match between the current location and the access location attribute, the document controller does not send the electronic document to the access device.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for switching a voice call from an Instant Messaging (IM) based voice network to a second voice network. A telephone adapted to switch a voice call from an Instant Messaging (IM) based voice network to a second voice network.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention include methods, systems and apparatuses for conducting secure transactions over a call. Users can initiate a secure transaction over a call, such as a telephone call, in which the identities of up to all participants can be validated prior to sending or receiving of payment, financial or other sensitive information. A transaction module collects and verifies all necessary transaction information and resources. User can be prompted to confirm or approve the transaction prior to completion of the transaction. Summaries of the transaction can be sent to users or stored in record keeping.
Abstract:
An online video distribution network includes an online video portal and an online video merchant. In one embodiment, when the consumer orders a video, the merchant provides a pick-up ticket to the consumer. The portal uses the merchant identity in the pick-up ticket to connect to the merchant, and the merchant uses a product identity in the pick-up ticket to retrieve and send the video to the portal. In another embodiment, the portal provides the consumer with a drop-off ticket, which is provided to the merchant. The merchant connects to the portal using the portal identity in the drop-off ticket, and sends the video and a customer identity in the drop-off ticket to the portal. The portal determines a consumer record associated with the consumer identity and stores the video in the consumer record. The consumer can then easily access the video at the portal.
Abstract:
A voice message system records voice message usage information by creating voice message records when a voice message is sent and when it is received. The voice message record includes: the voice message, a voice message sender identity, a voice message recipient identity, and voice message action records. A voice message action records includes a voice message action that specifies an action on the voice message, and a voice message action time that includes the time at which the action occurs. Voice message actions include sent, received, and listened. The system further includes a voice message analyzer for analyzing voice message records, and a voice message reporter for generating reports from an analysis by the analyzer. The voice message system provides tractable information for voice messages, allowing companies to enforce a voice message usage policy.
Abstract:
Provided is a method and system for receiving and displaying video from both an Internet and a broadcast video source. Also provided is a frame controller for receiving video data from an Internet video stream and from a cable broadcast video stream, the frame controller further in communication with a television display and causing the Internet video stream and the cable broadcast video stream to each be displayed in a separate frame on the television display.
Abstract:
A method and system for determining if a phone has changed locations includes a subscriber phone equipment coupled to a phone system through a subscriber access line. The subscriber phone equipment includes a location test module and a datastore. The location test module includes a first subscriber access line identity for the subscriber access line. The datastore includes a first subscriber location for the first subscriber access line identity. The location test module obtains a second subscriber access line identity for the subscriber access line, obtains a second subscriber location for the second subscriber access line identity, and compares the first subscriber location and the second subscriber location. If the first subscriber location does not match the second subscriber location, then the subscriber phone equipment has changed locations. If the first subscriber location matches the second subscriber location, then the subscriber phone equipment has not changed locations.
