Abstract: An iterative receiver is proposed for receiving in a cell a signal and for providing information carried on the signal by execution of at least one processing iteration. The receiver includes an estimate assembly for receiving the signal and providing, at each one of the processing iterations, a respective information estimate; a regeneration assembly for receiving, at each processing iteration, the information estimate provided by the estimate assembly at that iteration, and for providing a regenerated signal therefrom based on the information estimate and on attenuation of radio channels over which the signal has been transmitted; an interference estimate unit for providing, at each iteration, an interference estimate based on the signal and the regenerated signal, the estimate assembly providing, starting from a second processing iteration of the processing iterations, the information estimate based on the interference estimate; and an extraction unit for extracting the information from the information estimate.

Abstract: A method of downloading video contents from a content server to a client through a base station of a wireless communication network is provided. Each video content includes a sequence of encoded video frames. The method includes having the content server send a video content in a sequence of data packets, each data packet including data corresponding to at least one portion of an encoded video frame, and having a proxy server at the base station classify each data packet according to the type of video frame it correspond to. The method also includes having a scheduler at the base station assign radio resources for the transmission of the data packets to the client based on the classification carried out by the proxy server, and transmitting the data packets to the client by exploiting the radio resource assignment carried out by the scheduler.

Abstract: A method for managing a full duplex mobile telecommunication network includes providing a coordination unit of a set of base stations, and having the coordination unit group a plurality of user equipment served by said base stations to form corresponding user groups. Each user group includes a group of user equipment which are close to each other by an extent such to cause potential user equipment to user equipment interference. The method also includes having the coordination unit allocate radio resources for at least one between transmissions from user equipment to base stations, and transmissions from base stations to user equipment. The method further includes having each base station carrying out at least receiving transmissions from at least one served user equipment, and sending transmissions to at least one served user equipment by exploiting the allocated radio resources.

Abstract: A method manages sub-frame data transmission in a cellular network including a macro node and at least one small node associated therewith. The method includes at a macro node side: based on channel quality information from user equipment associated with the macro node, grouping the user equipment into a first group that can be served at a macro node first transmission power and a second group that has to be served at a macro node second transmission power higher than the macro node first transmission power, and determining a sub-frames pattern including: a number of no-transmission sub-frames wherein data transmission is prevented at the macro node side, a number of limited-transmission sub-frames wherein data transmission is allowed at the macro node side at only the first transmission power, and a number of normal-transmission sub frames wherein data transmission is allowed at the macro node side at the second transmission power.

Abstract: A wireless communication network including a first transceiver station for transmitting first signals over a first area coverage and over a first transmission bandwidth, and a second transceiver station selectively activatable/de-activatable. The second transceiver station is operable to broadcast, when de-activated, a beacon signal identifying the second transceiver station, the beacon signal having a beacon frequency at edges of the first transmission bandwidth. The beacon signal is detectable by a user equipment for inferring presence of the second transceiver station.
