Abstract: A touch sensor includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a sensing channel. The first electrode includes first electrode cells arranged in a first direction, a first connection portion connecting the first electrode cells in the first direction and a first opening disposed in at least one of the first electrode cells. The second electrode includes an electrode portion disposed in the first opening. The electrode portion is disposed on a same layer as the first electrode cells and separated from the first electrode. The sensing channel includes a first terminal and a second terminal. The first terminal is connected to the first electrode. The second terminal is connected to the second electrode.

The pressure sensing electrodes and second pressure sensing electrodes are spaced apart from the first touch electrodes. The first pressure sensing electrodes, the second pressure sensing electrodes, the first touch electrodes, and the second touch electrodes are all disposed in a first layer.

Abstract: A touch sensor includes a base layer; a first electrode member that includes a plurality of first electrodes arranged on the base layer and electrically connected to each other along a first direction, each of the first electrodes including a first opening; a second electrode member that includes a plurality of second electrodes arranged on the base layer and electrically connected to each other along a second direction that intersects the first direction; a conductive member that includes a plurality of conductive patterns electrically connected to each other along the first direction; and a proximity detector that is electrically connected to the conductive member and configured to detect proximity of an object by receiving a proximity sensing signal from the conductive member. Each of the conductive patterns is located in the first opening of each of the first electrodes and spaced apart from each of the first electrodes, respectively.

A display device includes: pixels arranged in a display region; sensing electrodes arranged in a sensing region; sensing lines coupled to the respective sensing electrodes; a noise detection electrode disposed on the same layer as the sensing electrodes; sensing channels each including a first input terminal coupled to any one of the sensing electrodes and a second input terminal coupled to the noise detection electrode, the sensing channels each generating an output signal corresponding to a voltage difference between the first and second input terminals; and a processor detecting a touch input, using the output signals of the sensing channels.
