Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a physical random access channel (PRACH) message corresponding to a PRACH occasion, wherein the PRACH occasion comprises a dedicated PRACH occasion or one of a plurality of PRACH occasions comprising at least one shared PRACH occasion associated with a two-step random access channel (RACH) procedure and a four-step RACH procedure, wherein the PRACH message includes a request for physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) repetition corresponding to a radio resource control (RRC) connection request message of the four-step RACH procedure. The UE may transmit at least one PUSCH repetition associated with the RRC connection request message based at least in part on the request. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a wireless device may In use non-uniformly distributed bits for amplitude mapping and uniformly distributed bits for sign mapping to support probabilistic constellation shaping (PCS) for transmission of a message. To provide a coding gain with one or more retransmissions of the message, the device may configure redundancy versions based on the non-uniform distribution of one or more symbols. In some examples, the device may include the same set of non-uniformly distributed systematic bits or at least a portion of non-uniformly distributed systematic bits in each redundancy version of the message. Additionally or alternatively, the device may use multiple modulation and coding scheme (MCS) values to modulate one or more of the redundancy versions, where a first MCS value is used to modulate non-uniformly distributed symbols and a second MCS value is used to modulate uniformly distributed symbols.

A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a configuration that may identify a set of time and frequency resources for transmission of sounding reference signals, the set of time and frequency resources including a plurality of subsets of time and frequency resources. The UE may receive control signaling indicating a value of the partial frequency parameter of the plurality of values. The UE may transmit a sounding reference signal on a subset of time and frequency resources of the plurality of subsets of time and frequency resources that corresponds to the value of the partial frequency parameter indicated by the received control signaling.

The UE may transmit a random access channel (RACH) preamble to the base station. The communication device may be configured to support reporting of power imbalances between antennas of the communication device. Abstract: In a probabilistic amplitude shaping (PAS) system, a distribution matching (DM) component may receive a uniform bit sequence with equal probabilities, which may be converted into symbols with a desired probability distribution (e.g., Gaussian). For example, the probability distribution may use inner constellation points associated with a lower energy and/or power more frequently and outer constellation points associated with a higher energy and/or power less frequently. In general, the DM component may map binary bits to positive amplitudes with a non-uniform distribution according to a DM rate that is based at least in part on a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), which may vary significantly in a spatial and frequency selective wireless channel. Accordingly, some aspects described herein relate to configuring DM parameters and codeword and resource mappings in a spatial and frequency selective wireless channel.

A transmitting device may perform distribution matching on at least a first subset of a set of bits, such as the bits of transport block. The distribution matching may include a variable-to-fixed (v2f) distribution matching procedure in which a ratio between a quantity of input bits to output interim symbols for the v2f distribution matching procedure is variable. The distribution matching include evaluating, after each instance of the v2f distribution matching procedure, whether additional bits remain for distribution matching, and if so, whether to perform an additional instance of the v2f distribution matching procedure or an alternative distribution matching procedure on the remaining bits. Corresponding techniques for a receiving device are also described, including distribution dematching techniques based on a v2f distribution dematching procedure.
