Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish a radio resource control (RRC) connection with a base station. The UE may receive, from the base station, parameters associated with a set of frequency bands, the parameters indicating a priority of each frequency band of the set of frequency bands. The UE may then measure, based on the priority, one or more frequencies of at least one frequency band of the set of frequency bands. The UE may then transmit, after a time delay and to the base station, a measurement report including measurements of one or more frequency bands of the set of frequency bands.

Abstract: Aspects are provided which allow an apparatus to efficiently indicate downgraded band combinations associated with carrier aggregation (CA) to a base station, in which one or more UE capabilities such as the DL MIMO of certain supported band combinations may be downgraded in exchange for other UE capabilities such as FD-MIMO and 256/1024QAM. The apparatus, which may be a UE, receives a request from a base station for information associated with downgraded band combinations and for information corresponding to at least one UE capability associated with each of the downgraded band combinations. After receiving the request, the UE sends, to the base station, information indicating the downgraded band combinations and the at least one UE capability. The UE may thus report downgraded band combinations for a subset of supported band combinations as requested by the base station, thereby minimizing capability reporting of the UE.

Abstract: In various embodiments, a wireless device processor may determine a threat score for a first cell, determine whether the first cell threat score is below a first threat score threshold, update a good neighbor cell data structure using neighbor cell information from the first cell in response to determining that the first cell threat score is below the first threat score threshold, performing cell reselection to a second cell, determine whether the second cell transmits a system information block message indicating fake neighbor cell information, and increase a threat score for the second cell in response to determining that the second cell provides the SIB message indicating fake neighbor cell information and that a good neighbor cell data structure includes an indication of one or more good neighbor cells that are within the time threshold and the location threshold and doing countermeasures in a response to the determination.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. More specifically, the methods, systems, and devices support extending capability signaling to support higher modulation order baseband capability, such as higher order quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM), for example, 1024QAM. By way of example, a user equipment (UE) may transmit UE capability information to a base station (e.g., eNodeB (eNB), next-generation NodeB ((gNB)) in a connection establishment procedure. The UE capability information may include a UE category identifier and a baseband capability parameter. The baseband capability parameter may indicate a scaling factor for a first modulation order of a plurality of available modulation orders. The UE may communicate with the base station over multiple layers using corresponding modulation orders for the multiple layers.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus selects an LTE serving cell and a non-LTE serving cell. Measurement objects corresponding thereto are identified based on a review of broadcasted system information and historical information relating to prior serving cells. The apparatus identifies measurement objects from other radio access technologies (RATs) (WCDMA, CDMA, GSM). The remaining measurement objects may be identified based on measurement identifiers. The apparatus performs wireless measurements based on the selected serving cells and identified measurement objects. The resulting measurements are transmitted to the network for use in determining channel conditions.
